lenver
Hi, currently I have a T5 Quad fixture that's awesome, but I want to add more lighting on the back of the tank because I want to place some SPS', the tank is a 150 tall, but the SPS would be very high up since they will be placed on top of the rock My question is do these stunner led strips have enough power to complement the T5's? http://www.austinreefclub.com/topic/27596-150-gallon-tank/page-
kingjames
yes, i have a 48in blue stunner complimenting my metal halides and there is a huge diffrence from when they are on and off. HUGE, and my corals also respond and expand when the stunner comes on before halides, so they do give off some par too
+Mitch
I use Ecoxotic Stunner LED strip along the back of my tank due the spread of my main LED fixtures not hitting high enough up. I have SPS along the back and have decent growth.
jestep
Not sure what your budget is but check out the reef brite tech LED's as well. They are extremely bright and come in several color combos. The actinic only really make coral pop.
lenver
Seems this will work, so I will get a 48" stunner strip to complement the T5's, thanks
lenver
I've been trying to find out, are these 1w leds? I keep seeing that's 24W consumption, but nothing on what kind of LED's they are.
Timfish
If I remember correctly the Stunners are using 1/3 watt LEDs
lenver
aahhhh, I see why the price, by the time you place the reflectors and everything else, you're probably better off getting a BML fixture, or making your own.
Wade
I'm thinking of adding a strip to the front of mine since the Photon 48 hits the inside of the curved canopy before it gets as far over the front as I would like. What DIY do you recommend?
