Ed
Do you need a hang on or in sump model? Aquamedic makes the Turboflotor both ways. It is a good skimmer for the money. I have a Euroreef which works very well, but they are pricey. ASM makes a Euroreef type skimmer for less money. HTH. -Ed
dieselndixie
will need an in sump in about a week....right now, mine is both
Dhayden
I hear good things about the Coralife superskimmer for the money. In sump you could spend a lot of money on some really good ones, but.. I think you could get a SS for bout $100 if you look around.
caferacermike
I have to say that the ease of use and the fact that I honestly believe my skimmer makes keeping a salt tank easier, that I couldn't do it without my Euroreef.
Enigma13
I used a Euroreef as well and have no complaints. As mentioned above they are easy to use/adjust and are plug and play for setup. They are a little more pricey, but you get what you pay for. MarineDepot.com has pretty good prices on them and if you need one more quickly I know that Aquatek here in town keeps certain sizes in stock. Others may too, I just don't know. dieselndixie
.alright so i know you get what you pay for..... but how about something a bit more affordable for my 55g anyone used this one? http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp...product=ES33000 I dont mind spending more if I need to, but I am really trying to save for better lights....so would like to keep the skimmer around $
Dhayden
That elbow wont work confused2.gif At least that what came up for me. I think the Coralife Super Skimmer is the best in that price range. I have always heard decent things of them. Wish I had one instead of my prizm.
hammondegge
you have some height issues with your stand. i believe you only have 21" of available height under your tank. that is not allowing for the 3-4 inches that you may need to remove the collection cup. a turboflotor at 18" may work, but i am thinking that you might like a Tunze DOC skimmer http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_protei...sic.asp?CartId= they can be set up vertically or horizontally and are pod friendly. i see them used at Aquatec every now and then for 100-150. i run one and like it a lot. caferacermike
Last I was at the Tek I think they had a Tunze sump in a bag. I think it was there for at least 2 months before I went back again and that was about a week ago. It's been there for awhile and I'd almost bet it still is. caferacermike
It looked to be everything for a sump. Stuff like skimmer and some pumps.
dieselndixie
hmmmm, if i could pick one of those up for 100-150 i would probably do it...that seems like a nice $255 seems a bit rough though....blew all my money on a sump
