FishyCat
Hi Everyone! I joined earlier this month and thought it was about time to say hello. My hubby and I started our first saltwater tank, 12 gallon Nano, in the middle of October. I've had small FW tanks before but this is new territory. I love it and I'm totally addicted. I've gotten really good info. and help from Jim and Rufus at Deep Blue. It's all their fault! Now, I'm obessed. Glad to know there are others out there like my hubby and me! Look forward to getting to know you all.

SoonerFan
Glad to see the club growing. Welcome and what part of our area are you in. Be sure and list any modifications you have made to your tank, post pictures, etc. The folks here love to see that stuff. Lee

FishyCat
Thanks for the warm welcome. My tank keeps changing since it went through the cycle. I got some new stuff tonight! After I get it settled in tomorrow I'll take some new photos and post them. I want to know how I became addicted so quickly!!!!! One day I was on the fence about whether or not to do saltwater and now here I am thinking that this tank just simply isn't big enough. I thought well if I can keep this one doing well I'll upgrade to a 24 gallon this summer. Now I want to go even bigger than that. But that will depend on if I end up in another apartment or a house. At this point I haven't made any modifications to the Nano other than adding to $10 skimmer. But I will post photos tomorrow. Probably later in the day. I've got to start and finish my Christmas shopping! Thanks again for the welcome!
GKarshens
One day I was on the fence about whether or not to do saltwater and now here I am thinking that this tank just simply isn't big enough. Isn't that the truth? You got it just as bad as the rest of us. My one piece of advice on that subject is wait until you know where you are going to be, and then go as big as you can for that place. I went from a 10 to a 29 to a 55 to a 125 all in about 6 months. If I had just gone straight to the 125 I would have saved a lot of money. +dapettit
We got into the hobby in April. We started with a 29 and got bit by the bug. Now we are stocking our 150! The cool thing is my wife is really inot it. . .
FishyCat
Yeah, I got the bug really bad! We wanted to go to a 24 gallon in the summer if we continue to do well with the 12 gallon. I think I'd rather go a bit bigger. But nothing is for sure just yet as far as going bigger. We live in apartments right now (2nd floor) and I wouldn't start another tank until after we decide to renew our lease or move. That is still about 6 months away. I don't think we could go much bigger than 24-34 gallon in our curent place since we are on the 2nd floor and the floors are not level. So, I have time to figure out how big I can talk the hubby into going! And I'll definitely keep your advice in mind GKarshens. I forgot someone asked what area we live in, we live near Far West. And yes, I was really on the fence about going saltwater but my husband really wanted to do it. He took me to 2 different LFS and well as you can tell I am now a full blown reefaholic!!! I am thinking about starting a pico tank for hard corals or fragging. I'm still going to try and get some tank photos posted later tonight but I have got to go start and finish my Christmas shopping. Wish me luck on that!
Joseph9123
It's a hobby that will bite you for many yrs with many more addiction and wanting larger tanks. Congrats and the bigger the better on the tank size. Less work for sure!. -Joseph
FishyCat
Well, I promised photos but got a late start settling in the new stuff. So the water was too cloudy. I'll hopefully add them tomorrow sometime. Still have one more Christmas gift to go.
FishyCat
Well, I never got those photos up and now I can't find the cord that goes from the camera to the computer! I think I left it at the in-laws house. Tried to get one at a couple of stores but they all say they'll have to order it. But I will get some pic.s up as soon as I can.
