75G hybrid grow-out

This is my most interesting tank with a wall of diver selected uncured and untamed aquacultured rock.

This 75G tank has a four foot 6 bulb horticulture fixture with 3 UV-A bulbs, 2 bulbs at 5400 kelvin and 1 bulb at 6400 kelvin. This tank is on my south porch and receives indirect sun all day and direct sun for 2 hours.

Circulation within the tank is a vertical loop current with flow provided by an air uplift curtain on left side and a Mag 7 sump return pump using two flow eductors. Flow eductors located on upper left assist air uplift with much surface agitation to assist with evaporation and air/water gas exchange.

While outside morning light is still favorable for pictures, I will make it happen.

La bonne temps roulee,

Patrick

Uncured and untamed...sounds like a mustang ranch.

Your tanks are interesting with the different methods you use for them. They all look good, though better in person than in the pictures. Do you have a heating issue with it being outside?

At 4PM it is 81 degrees on my south porch. System water temperature is 80.7 degrees. Jacuzzi water temperature is 107 degrees. Greenhouse air temperature is 109 degrees. Greenhouse 150G Rubbermaid tanks are 79.8 degrees.

I have no problem with maintaining temperature except for the $915 electrical bill.

Wow!, that's a heck of an electricity bill. You should look into investing in solar panels or something.

I have invested in a $26K water well. My ground water cost $.35 per KGal. If I compare geothermal cooling against refrigeration cooling, my electrical consumption is 60% less for geothermal. During the winter time, when I need heat, geothermal heating will be much more favorable due to warm temperature of 78.5 degrees in the Middle Trinity Aquifier at 850'. With respect to solar panels, I am not connected to Austin Power with attractive solar panel reimburesement.

Before I invest in solar panels for this business, the business needs to make money.

I have noted an abundance of different red macro algae and have noted numerous starts of Red Grapes. The Red Boring Sponge is an eye catcher for me. Until the recent growth of red macro, there was only one one red spot, Red Sponge.
