Tanga.com 4/24/13: 2-Pack GE Water Leak Detection Alarm $12.99

Recommended Posts

This GE Water Leak Detection Alarm can save your home from possible disaster and you from costly bills. It’s a water alarm that warns you of the first sign of a leak to prevent water and mold damage.

Simply place the alarm in the areas where leaks or water overflow might occur (hot water heaters, toilets, dishwashers, refrigerators, sinks, A/C drip pans, washing machines, bathtubs, wet bars, hot tubs, etc.) and if water starts to puddle, the alarm will alert you.

Have you tried these ones particularly? This would have saved my A** 2 times now when one of my canister filter connections cracked.

Ouch. That had to suck.

I am curious about these too. I would test them just about every time I fiddled with my tank, though.

I've seen these and leakfrogs get used, both worked great. (but someone needs to be around to hear the sound lol)

Came into a situation with 1 inch of water on the ground, one sensor going off, the other had gotten knocked to the floor and was dead.

I haven't used this model, but I have two leak frogs on the floor by my tank and as long as their batteries are good they will definitely attract your attention. $13 is cheap compared to the damage a water leak can do.

  • 2 weeks later...

Neptune + breakout box + speaker wire and crimps = leak detector that will actually do SOMETHING (other than simply make noise) when a leak is detected

and how much do you charge for this setup?

well...I assume many people already have an APEX (or similar controller) a diy breakout box is really simple...and running speaker wire and putting clamps on it is even simpler.

netunes BoB SUCKS! the DIY 3.5mm audio jack version is so much better..

But please explain to me the speaker wire/crimps portion for my DIy fascination :)
