How did you organize your plugs, cords, etc?

I'm going to finally get around to mounting/organizing all of my ballasts, cords, plugs, etc.

I was interested in see how other people did theirs, any gadgets they used to keep things organized, etc.

If this is in the wrong place, please move accordingly

Agree with Brian about Mitch. Since you're running a bigger system, I'd have a look at running unistrut. It's expensive, but it's awesome. Pretty commonly used in electrical and sometimes the plumbing trades, it's a system of cross beams with accessories for holding pipes and such.

I don't know how your apex is stored, but do you have a dry side where you can store your electronics components in a moisture-free (or drastically reduced) area?

Not really, Currently everything is just laying on the floor in my stand right next to the sump, which is horrible. I overflew my sump a few days ago after messing with my returns, and It gave me the wake-up call to get everything fixed.

You might really consider a moisture tight enclosure for your apex base and EB8's. It might be an expense you didnt intend to have, but hey, isn't that kinda par for the course with reefing ? :) Saltwater vapor + non-waterproof electronics = poof, and when you consider that your apex setup is *at least* $500, probably more like $750, you want that to last as long as possible.

This is what the neptune tech uses:

When I was thinking of how to keep the contents of my stand tidy and keep my electronics off the stand floor, I was trying to implement a type of attachable grid system like I have to organize my garage/yard tools. The wire mesh shelving mounted vertically against the back stand openings has really worked out nicely. I can rearrange as needed, slide secured items horizontally, great ventilation, etc. I use zip ties to mount everything to it.

That would be ching chai's build(I think or sure looks like his setup if not). He has a huge build thread on RC in the large tank forum. Something about dream build in thailand I think. It's very impressive. And the colonies he gets straight outta the water even more so(basketball sized for $20!). Go spend the day and read it.
