Stephen
Picked up a GFCI unit yesterday at the store and after I installed it I couldn't get the power in entire room to go back on. Tried resetting the outlet and the breaker. After messing with it a few times I just put back on the old outlet and everything turned on in the room just fine. Any ideas why this might of happened? I don't know much about electrical work..
victoly
sounds like either a bad GFCI, incorrect wiring, or something on the circuit that is causing the GFCI to fail. If you don't wire them up correctly, you don't get GFCI protection, so you have to make sure that it's done right. If you're not confident, it's one of those things that may be worth having a pro do. Good luck!
