wesreyn
While moving lights around and doing maintenance, I dropped a wire nut back in my overflow. With my canopy and lighting system, it is impossible for me to get to it without disassembling everything. I was wondering if you guys would worry about it? I would just worry about it leaching some kind of metal.
victoly
depends on the type. some nuts come with a watersealing lubricant that you probably don't want in your tank. probably just best to go ahead and pull it out.
wesreyn
Its just a yellow wing nut. Man, it would be quite a chore to get there.
+brian.srock
Could you use one of those extendable magnet wands to get it?
+Capt. Obvious
hose siphon it out...or use your magfloat or powerhead magnet mount to drag it up, or magnet on a string method to fish it out
wesreyn
Luckily my wife came to the rescue. She was able to squeeze in there and get her little arm all the way to the bottom. Thanks for the ideas!!!

George Monnat Jr
I'm late to the party, but I'm glad you got it out. If the insert has any copper in it, then it could've contaminated your LR and killed all of your pods, shrimp, etc. (crustaceans).
