+boognish
I am plumbing my tank and can't find a definitive conclusion on whether it is ok to use the standard (cheaper) NSF-pw PVC pipe. In all of the forums, the vote goes both ways, but I have not found anything that says why it's bad or good, what it leaches if it's bad, or much more than "I've heard this or that"... Can anyone shed some light or have a resource they could link me to?

+boognish
I may have posted too soon, but if this helps anyone, it's worth it. - I may have finally found something credible out there on the innerweb... http://www.thekrib.com/Filters/plumbing-misc.html search the page for "PVC vs CPVC". PVC is safe for drinking water provided that you buy (IN the USA) pipe and fittings marked, "NSF-pw." This is pipe that is made from a compound that has passed tests of the National Sanitary Foundation that show it is safe for drinking water and presumably for aquatic critters too. Looks like I may have the right pipe after all...
