Daisy82
I'm trying to figure out the best way to direct the flow in my tank. I'm working with one Koralia 4, one Koralia 3, and my return that pushes a good amount of water, in a 65 gal tank. I currently have a Koralia on each side of the the tank angled toward each other, and the return is coming out of a box in the rear LH corner. I'm having a hard time finding a good balance. Seems like either my sand gets shifted around alot, the surface becomes too agitated, or my polyps and other corals look like they're in a tornado! Any suggestions? Could I have too much flow going on?
joshman1204
I had good luck putting the power heads about half way down the glass on each side and pointing them towards the front in an X pattern while they are angled towards the top of the tank. It is kinda hard to describe but I hope that makes since
Derek
It is definitely tricky. I found that a lot of it has to do with how your rocks are situated. Josh has a good point. If you cross the streams you will get some really good random flow.
Stephen
i also have mine in an X pattern facing the glass
JamesL
For my tank layout (75 gal), the best position for my Korlias was one on the right pane of glass pointing to the left (flow going the long direction), and one on the left side back glass, pointing towards the front of the tank (flow going in the short direction). I have a large mass of rock on the left side, thus the reason for pointing a powerhead in the short direction.
