  1. I am going to resort to the old saying .... "if you cant say something nice just dont say anything at all"
  2. please stop everything you are doing and do some more research! Two tangs in a 30gal tank along with some clowns and two nems!!! I am way to tired to tell you everything that is wrong with that but please just stop and do some research before you do anything else and find a good home for those tangs as fast as you can.
  3. ok so down to 3 chromis now ... I cant find the missing one anywhere. Is it possible for large LTA to eat a chromi?
  4. Well looks like I will be losing my job tomorrow ... If anyone is hiring send me a PM

      Sorry to hear :(

  5. I have already lost one bluespot in my 24g so I will make sure that I have a very tight fitting lid before adding one to my 40g.
  6. I have been wondering how many fish is too many. I currently have two O. Clowns, a purple fire fish, and 4 blue/green chromis in my 40g. I am running a 40 breeder display with a 20 long sump that is holding 15 gallons for a total system volume of 55 gallons. I am using a Precision marine redline 150 skimmer and running ROX 0.8 carbon and will probably be adding GFO in the near future. I would like to add a pink spotted goby and a blue spot jawfish as my final two fish. I know this is probably considered a very heavy bio load but I would like to know if it is possible with the setup I have. Thanks, Josh
  7. Put a bunch of water bottles in the freezer. When the temp starts to rise just start floating the frozen bottles. I know this isn't a long term fix but it will work for several hours.
  8. I love my phoenix but I do plan on running. 10k with actinics when my canopy is finished. I just want to compare the look and see which I like better.
  9. I never really did much research on the t5 because I finally got my pendant where I liked it. I think I am just going to wait until it is time to buy a new mh bulb and then I will switch to a Diy led setup.
  10. Wow this anemone is huge today! I thought it was big yesterday but it really settled in and is massive today. I am planning on adding some SPS across the top of my two arches but I have heard that anemones can move and sting SPS. Does it kill the SPS when it gets stung? Also is there a certain time period where if the anemone hasn't moved you can be pretty sure he is going to stay put? I know my BTA took 3-4 days to decide on a spot but after that he never moved for almost 6 months. Is the same true for this LTA? Thanks!!
  11. So this tank is just a few days past a month old and I figured it was time for some updated pics. I haven't really added much just yet as I like to take it slow and try to make sure I dont do something I am going to regret later. Here is a current FTS: Here is the Firefish I picked up from shane at fishy business a few weeks ago. He is just now starting to come out of his hiding spot: I just picked up this anemone and these clowns from aquadome this morning. I am not sure what kind of nem this is but the clowns love it. When I put the bags in the tank to float the clows were swimming against the side of the bag trying to get to the nem and then as soon as I unbagged them they went straight to it. If someone could tell me what kind of nem and clowns these are I would appreciate it. here is a shot of how I crammed a Precision Marine redline 150 into a 20g sump I know a skimmer rated for a 150 gallon tank might be overkill on a 40g but I like fish and I plan on "overstocking" this tank so I went big on the skimmer. I also added a moderate clean up crew consisting of 10 nassarius snails, 10 nerite snails, 10 zigzag snails, and a few blue legs from my old tank. I also added some mangroves to the fuge but I dont know if they are in there right. Should they be more out of the water than this or will they grow like this?
  12. I had good luck putting the power heads about half way down the glass on each side and pointing them towards the front in an X pattern while they are angled towards the top of the tank. It is kinda hard to describe but I hope that makes since
  13. Nah I work out in marble falls at Johnson sewell. My brother worked in parts at covert for 15 years.
  14. If you want to sell just the clown I would like to buy it.
  15. Probably one of the few of use with job security ...
  16. Very nice looking site and cool business.
  17. I am just getting to know some of you and I plan to make the next few meetings. I was just wondering what kind of work everyone does to pay for there obsession. I work at a Ford dealership as a quicklane/ asst service manager. I took this job because I got burned out doing my previous work and this was a much lower stress job. I have actually come to really like this job and have been here almost 3 years now. Prior to this I was an IT Director for a community bank and then I went to work for a national IT consulting firm and I traveled pretty much 100% of the time and just got burned out.
  18. Where are you located? Will you sell out right? I don't really have anything to trade yet.
  19. Payment sent. I sent it using the iPhone app and don't know if I got it marked personal or not.
  20. I need to split some reagents with someone
  21. I have never run anything more than a 40g so take this with a grain of salt but I cant see ten pounds of rock making a difference on a tank that size.
