  1. yup, underneath my overflow where the tank is drilled was were I first suspected, but it's dry. Can't see anything through the hole either. I have no idea what area of the bottom it's coming from - there is water at all four corners. It is definitely dripping faster from the back right corner, but that could just be because the floor's not level... I don't know. I'm just hoping the whole bottom doesn't come crashing down!

draining half the water and taking out some of the rock hasn't improved the situation at all - looks like I'll have to empty everything. If anyone knows of someone who can re-seal a tank, please let me know!

This really stinks - the tank was doing so well! And of course I just ordered some goodies in the group order. In the words of George Costanza, " Why must there always be a problem!? "

  2. What do I do!!?? there is a steady dripping leak and it seems to be coming from the bottom... I have no idea how to even locate the leak. It is travelling along the bottom of the trim. if anyone has any ideas please let me know! I have drained about half the water hoping to relieve some of the pressure....

  3. Brittle Starfish available, ranging from half-dollar to tennis ball size in circumferance. 3$ ea. These detrius eating starfish are great to have on your cleanup crew - they keep those hard to reach areas clean, and they will stir and aerate the sand bed. Reef safe.

Several mushrooms - purple with green stripes. Really pretty - they look tie-dyed to me. 7$ ea.

Zoas, 20+ heads. Bright green skirts with light blue in the middle and a bright yellow center (I think they're blowpops but not sure). 20$

    Will also consider trades!

I'm in North Georgetown, but I also make it to the RCA area a few times a week if anyone wants to meet up.

  4. What a gorgeous set up! All your hard work has really payed off. I don't know if I could sleep at night If I had such a beauty.... is there such thing as tank insurance? :)

  5. Interesting! And it makes sense - usually when I'm stressed I wish there were two of me! :)

Any opinions on whether or not this is too many anemones to keep in a 65 gal? Current count is two GBTA's and one small RBTA.

  6. This is getting weirder.... I just found another GBTA stuck to the side my sump! With a plastic dosing fork stuck in his foot! (no idea how the fork ended up in the tank)

This guy has been on a wild ride! Did the original nem get torn in half? Will they both survive? Did my clowns hire the cleaner shrimp as a hit man to get rid of the nem because they heard me calling them stupid because they wouldn't go near it !? The plot thickens....

Hard to see, but look in the middle. Found in the overflow.

  7. So I've had a GBTA for the last four months or so. Got back from vacation, and he was gone - just disappeared. I figured he got caught in a powerhead and dissolved over time. That was over three weeks ago .... and I found the dummy yesterday in my overflow behind some pipes (NO idea how he even got in there - the slats are tiny). I put him back in his spot and he stuck for awhile, then crawled halfway under a rock. He doesn't look good at all - discolored, puny, white on the tips of his tentacles.

Is there anything I can do for him? My first inclination was to feed him alot, but I'm not sure. Do these guys bounce back easily, or are they pretty delicate?

And on another note, I got a RBTA a few days ago. Will they co-exist peacefully?

  8. You too Laura!! Thanks so much for your time and good advice. Not to mention the good deals :)

Everything is doing great .... already starting to open up nicely. The porcelain crab is MIA - I think he's just laying low. Unfortunately the beautiful RBTA has taken up residence behind my rockwork! Hoping he's just playing shy and will decide to move up front soon.

  9. Nope, everyone plays nice in my tank. Haven't seen any bullying. My saline did go a little high last week, that's the only other thing I can think of.

Seems like every time I look at him his color looks worse! I'm glad to hear that it can happen, though. I hope he's going to make it - I'd hate to lose him. I love his little eyes. They remind me of a chameleon's!

  10. I have had a flame hawkfish for the last four months, and he's been doing great. Over the last week, though, his color has started to fade. At first I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me because it was so slight, but he's definitely looking faded - sort of a white-ish cast to him. Water checks out fine, no new additions, no changes in his behavior. Only change to the tank is I switched calcium and salt brands in the last month....

Any clues as to what could be causing this?

  11. So I have a nice canopy that matches the stand, but I rarely use it because of the heat that gets trapped under it. I would love to have my t-5's attached somehow, with some fans on each end. Any suggestions on how I should go about this? Or is there anyone out there who could be hired to do it? Will my lightstrip work for this, or do I have to get a new set of lights?

  12. So my husband and I went on a trip to Kauaii last week. Did some great snorkelling, and I dove down to collect a few shells that I stashed in my board shorts pocket. Well, I was just unpacking, got the shells out of my pocket and looked at them closely.... and realized that there were eyes looking back at me! Some of the shells had crabs in them!! I couldn't believe it - I thought they were empty. doh.gif I immediately dumped them in my tank, and they seem to be doing ok, which is pretty amazing considering the wild ride the poor guys have been on! Not to mention 3 days spent out of the water. I will definitely be taking a closer look next time I go picking up shells....
