Xenia Killer

It's this: http://majanowand.com/ and dapettit has one and is available for premium members to borrow.
2. The Vortechs have the motor outside of the tank, so you won't be adding heat to the water column as well as not have the possibility of an electrical problem / short. There's a large selection of possible flow patterns, eg constant, pulse, reef crest nutrient export, etc, that you can easily vary the intensity. The flow pattern is *wide*. When and if you add others, you can have them play nicely with each other wirelessly right out of the box (for the wireless models).
3. that's an awesome idea. i'll hit up Mike if we can make this an official ARC outing.
4. Um, Chris is being VERY humble! ...have you seen the stand that he made for his corner tank? http://www.austinreefclub.com/topic/24393-92-gallon-quarter-circle-with-custom-stand/
5. I had a 29g setup on a half wall /counter like that before and used an AquaC Remora skimmer on one end, which I still have btw and is for sale
6. Fyi I'll only frag it if there are multiple people interested - i'm thinking at least 4. Currently, i've got a couple people expressing interest in the entire thing but nothing definite yet.
7. weekend bump. open to fragging it if there's enough interest. it goes to the LSF next week if no takers.

8. On my first go around, I siphoned as many as I could from the rocks, sand, and glass, then followed the recommended dosing. For those that remained, I did see them "die", but after a few months I had another noticeable outbreak. This time around I followed the recommended dosage again, but actually saw some that seemed resistant, so I ended upping the dosage to 1.5X which seemed to kill the visible resistant ones. When they showed up the third time, i resorted to finding an alternative solution which ended up being the melanurus, and so far so good as i no longer see them on my glass.
9. Currently @ AMD. James and I work on the same floor / side of the bldg. I'm part of the CAD team supporting the designers with AMD's processor designs. I specialize in static timing analysis (verify a chip is running to spec, eg 1 GHz) and thermal analysis (verify the current flow (= heat) through localized parts of the chip do not change device characteristcs and or long term reliability of the part). However, I'm at the cusp of a career change and was accepted to UT's Alternate Entry MS Nursing program, but have deferred my start til Summer 2014. I hope to work in the ER and/or ICU, where I currently volunteer at both @ Brackenridge. Btw, other interests include sailing/windsurfing (i used to be a collegiate sailor), salsa dancing (teach, promote, run events), and brazilian jiu jitsu (just a blue belt).
10. I didn't find that FWE was useful. It seemed to kill what I saw on the glass, but in just a little time, I could those boogers back on the glass. I got a melanurus wrasse instead to hopefully take care of any unwanted pests.
11. When I was thinking of how to keep the contents of my stand tidy and keep my electronics off the stand floor, I was trying to implement a type of attachable grid system like I have to organize my garage/yard tools. The wire mesh shelving mounted vertically against the back stand openings has really worked out nicely. I can rearrange as needed, slide secured items horizontally, great ventilation, etc. I use zip ties to mount everything to it.
12. ct67stang did not win the hammer... it went for a whopping $77!... i think his max bid was just shy of that... fyi, the acro that ShawnM, Lisap, and I were interested in went for $23.15... before the end of the sales, i ended up picking a whole colony for ~5x that much and got significantly more coral... if you want to find out how much the various items that we were bidding on, the links are still good and show how much they sold for.
13. Try calling Wed afternoons as they are packing their shipments, and of course you can swing by for their normal hours of Sat noon - 4p.
14. It's good practice to always dip, irrespective from who/where you've gotten a coral.

Dave, which tank did your frag(s) come out of? The colony and frag that I had picked up where from the tank closest to the door, and I did not have any noticeable pests (knock on wood).

Also my one item (lobo) has already exceeded my max as well.
15. My hollywood stunner chalice got dismounted and it'll be a pain in the arse to remount, so i'm checking interest on this bad boy. It's 4" x 3.5". I'm thinking $60 OBO. Please PM if interested. Thanks for looking.
16. give AuctionSniper a try... you set your max bid, and it'll submit your bid a few seconds before it closes... you can go and resume your normal life and let it do the work vs getting emotionally involved in a bidding war...
17. Agreed, and that's why i mentioned the colony being the better deal.
18. It depends on what Matt responds back to me as far as the size of the colony, but maybe $10 at most $15. I'm hoping to see it in person as well.
19. Ok, but I'm not gonna bid too high on the frag, as the colony available on their website is a great deal. I've got an email out to Matt @ AAF about the colony. If I don't win the eBay frag at a minimal price, would you be interested in sharing the colony? We could easily get a nice mini-colony each and sell the remaining frags. Lmk your thoughts on this. Also if there are any other interested parties, please chime in.
20. ct67stand, fyi, AAF website listed 3 head frag of the peach coral for $45. http://austinaquafarms.com/shop/pink-tipped-hammer-euphyllia-sp-copy-2/ and 2 head frag for $39 http://austinaquafarms.com/shop/peach-branching-hammer-euphyllia-sp/ Not that either of these dictate how much you'll end up having to pay for it. I had talked to Matt @ AAF and he said they often get eBay sales which exceed what they had asked for on their website.
