also lots of online venders stop feeding the fish a few days before shipping so the fish dont funk up the water

Get a big canister filter and fill it with some good carbon just my 2 cents.

for the money i dont think you can go wrong with a euro reef skimmer. their customer service will always call you back if they dont pick up and they will talk to you on the phone to make sure you get the skimmer that is right for your tank. also the quality of there skimmers are very nice and not over priced for what you get

im good for right around $100.00 looks like the 3 of us so far are in for about $300 so far.....its looking good

herd lots of good things about the octopus skimmers just like with most skimmers get one thats rated a little over your tank size. And with a sump you can get one thats in the sump and i think most in sump-skimmers are better than any hob skimmer

any one in austin have a par meter that I could use. Trying to find out what I might be able to keep towards the top of my 20gal high tank with the sundial t5 light I have thanks.

If you get a red sea skimmer i almost promise you will be getting a new one in the future. The euro-reed skimmers are only $50. more and are sooooo much better. Also take a look at used skimmers. just and fyi

I would try to take it out little by little if you can. Like taring off a little of the wheel at a time so you dont shock the tank. It looks like you have all the LR you need so it shouldnt be a problem. Also i agree I would never run a tank with out a skimmer. All it can do imo is help. even if the bio load i real low it helps pot oxygen into the tank

you really dont need the penguin 400 filter. you live rock is all the biological filtration that you need. But you could keep it on the tank and take the bio-wheel off and use it for things like carbon and chemipure. But the bio-wheel will cause nitrate problems. And not to be a downer but the skimmer you have is junk . Read up on it i have seen nothing but bad reviews on it sorry.

I would love to do one and I wont be working after the 25 so i can pick the box up from the fedex place so they arnt on the hot truck, it will make it a little better for the fish

In late jun I was thinking it would be cool to to a group order from one of the better online stores. I just haven't been to happy with the selection of fish I have seen in most of the lsf im not saying they haven't been helpful and I did get a good price on my t-5 setup. I just think this would give us a good chance to get some hard to find stuff and the shipping wouldnt be to much of an issue. Any

i have been to most of the lfs and have seen zero lr that has looked good. Most with little to no coraline algae on. I will be geting the rock in the next month or 2 and didnt want to order it. If I cant find any local would any one want to go in on some and split the shipping???
