  1. Yes the best quick fix is to toss it out and replace it with a better skimmer. I've yet to see a Prizm actually do a good job. The CPR units seem to do a much better job, better yet is the hang on tank Deltec. In the middle a small Corallife skimmer would do a better job than the Prizm. If you are considering spending money to fix it, consider replacing it.

LOL Yea he is right thats why mine is in the garage, and you can probably find a coralife 65 or 125 for cheap.

  2. Is the metal shaft broken? If not it may be something else, you should be able to remove the shaft. You might try dissasembling it and rinse it out to see if maybe there is anything foreign in there causing the noise. I've got one in my garage I'll pull it apart and take a look at it to see if maybe something else could cause this noise.

  3. It was the beer and pizza...! Glad to hear it worked out. Where are the pics?

  5. " I still need a few more trim pieces and shingles but it'll have to wait until next weekend when I have a little more coin" Hey I've got a whole package of shingles in my shed if you want them you can have them. Would have to move a few tanks to get to them but its do-able.

  6. wow that is a lot of light for a breeder tank...I am assuming you are putting corals in there too?

can't wait to see pics!..I love projects.

Yeah its going to be an sps dominated tank. I need a dimond hole saw though so I can finish cutting holes for the closed loop.
