  1. Ok also your Message are messed up or full. i tried to msg you lastnight vs the post.. said it could not be sent..

Thanks for the heads up. My inbox was indeed full. Stephen's message yesterday was the one to make it in the box. I have made more space now.

  2. My anemone split yesterday and I'm selling the clone. It is a good looking nem and great for clownfish. My clownfish are crazy for this anemone. Asking $40.

I will post pics in a couple of days as it is still healing from the split. This looks just like the one(s) that Mark aka reef_pug has.

  3. I'm temporarily lowering the price of the remaining peppermint shrimp (still have a bunch left) to $3 for anyone who wants to buy them at the meeting. You must let me know in advance how many you would like and get them at the meeting.

  4. How much for the whole Hammer colony?

It has between 50 and 100 heads, hard to count but it is just a bit smaller than a volleyball. I'd take $100 for the mother colony.

  5. Nathan, where are the zoos that are having problems located in the tank? Are they on the sand bed, attached to rocks, or somewhere else? I ask because I know some of mine on the sand be will close up when hermits, snails, and other things are to close or travel on them. Some fish will also perch on zoas as well. If this happens too much they will not be open enough to process the light. I imagine this is not the case, but just wanted to throw it out there.

  6. john, how long have you had your goniopora? I have read that they are fairly difficult to keep? Have you had any problems?

Hi Ric, I've had it for a couple of months. No problems, I was actually thinking of fagging it, but I've heard that can be tricky.

  9. Matt,

How close are the tentacles to rock/corals? I've had a torch retract tentacles from being to close to a rock with zoos on it before. It was only one of 4 heads that retracted, but it was the one closest to the rock with zoas. I'm not sure if it was the rock or the zoas that were irritating it.

  10. Injecting with lemon juice suposidly gets rid of them or "true peppermint shrimp" (Lysmata wurdemanni), but make sure it is the true pep.

I've used the lemon juice method with great success. Just get a small syringe and inject in the base of the suckers.

  11. I'm not an expert but my paranoia about foundation problems would lead me to turn off the main water line while not needed. Since most people are alseep or away from the house for 8+8 =16 hours or more a day this can cut down on the amount of water by 2/3 a day. My main concern would be too much water leaking into the slab in one spot. It might cause the soil to turn into mud in just one spot and cause foundation problems. Just my 2cents mainly centered around concenrs with foundatoin. It might be a pain turning it off an on, but having foundation problems is a nightmare. I'm not a foundation expert either, but know people who have had problems. Fixing them can be crazy expensive.

I would call a schedule a plummer and get their advise on what you should do before they can come out.

  12. will my new lobster start any trouble with my other fishes/inverts...like gobys, shrimps, snails, crabs?

Not to be a jerk, but why are you asking this after you bought him? Did you not do any research first?
