  1. If any of you have a pump laying around taking up space, please let me know. Thanks, -Travis
  2. If this is the right model, I would be really interested. I could not find the 6-2+ on euroreef's site. Thanks, -t
  3. At the end of the day we are looking for a BIG TOBI --> little tobi Trade. This guy is the life of our tank... No nipping at corals, no bad behavior (save the occasional hermit when feeding is neglected (we feed about every 3 days, go longer expect a missing hermit) ... but if you have a Tobi already, chances are you know this, or soon will). He's just grown. He's now at his adult size. We have a pretty peaceful tank, clowns, gobies, and him. So a Lion Fish, Trigger, Scorpion tank is probably not his best home. We would like to find someone who has a LARGE tank with a small tobie....
  4. Very Sweet Skilz! How does he plan to attach panels. And more importantly (at least to me), how do you keep the panels square? -t
  5. I have this burning urge to buy something... but The IRS successfully extinguished the burning hole that was in my pocket, otherwise I would love to. Shane, over at FishyBusiness, told me that there are a few folks trying to get a group buy together for a Reef Controller system. That looks like the next item on my agenda! -t
  6. After I got mine wet the first time, it started growing and hasn't stopped.
  7. I really don't have room for an 18" fixture... and I don't really want to light the whole sump. I would love to find a 12" wide light that would reach to the bottom of 11" of water. This is the gereral layout of the sump.
  8. I would like to do SPS, but probably LPS at first. Where does one find a PAR meter?
  9. The area it's going in is only 6x11x11 (LxWxH), a little over 3 gallons, so it's not powering much space. At 27W, that's about 9w per gallon in the right spectrum. Will 27W reach down 11 inches? I was planning on egg crate shelves anyway, so there is the ability to raise it a bit. Thoughts?
  10. Well, as I was reading about "over drive" for t5's, I learned that doing that will make them need to be replaced faster. So if a 6month cycle is normal for a t5, I would think these are just about at there end of life before the spectrum shift. -t
  11. I was at Home Depot earlier this evening looking at lighting for our yard. While looking through the lights, one of the items I looked at caught my eye; 6700K coloration. Hmmm... 27W PC bulb, already moisture resistant enclosure. This thing started to look like a good idea for under my tank in a little area I want to put together as a propagation area. Anyone ever used one of these exterior landscape lights for under their tank? Lights of America 27 Watt Flood Light -t
  12. I sure feel your pain. If I could hide another take in the garage, I would keep it hidden over here for a while.
  13. Port A is one of our favorite weekend get aways. I will see if I can get the Mrs. to consider going with a bunch of weirdos like us! The first step will be getting her to come on Saturday. (that may or may not be a selling point to see frenzied fraggers)
  14. I'm making a few guesses here, but your 90g is probably 48" wide. So I am guessing your t5 fixtures are 48" as well, which puts them at 54w each. What kind of wattage does an over-driven t5 put out? Even if it was 50% over driven that only puts it at 81w per bulb... for a total of 486w, or 5.4w per gallon. Those numbers don't seem like too much light for that tank. But if they are, I am quite concerned about my lighting situation. I'd +1 the bulb condition as my first suspect. -t
  15. I'm really not sure. Give me a few options. I have a list of wants, but I suspect most of them are out the "fair value" trade. I really liked our Bubble Coral we used to have and would love to find another. But I am open to just about anything.
  16. As much as it pains me to do this I think I need to find a new home for my Star. I was reading up on care for my Sand Sifting Sea Star and apparently I really don't have anywhere near an adequate envrionment for him. They need a fairly large tank (125g or larger) with a pretty well established deep sand bed. If anyone is in the market for one I would love to consider a frag trade. -t
  17. If any fall through, put me down for the left overs. -t
  18. Thanks. Right now, the only inhabitants are 20 hermit crabs. The light schedule right now is: 09:00 - 21:00 for actinic and 13:00 - 18:00 for MH. I guess I'll back those down as I start introducing corals.
  19. OK, now to head to River City in hopes of hermit... and I shall name you all, "Hermit the Crab". A Photo of the Hermit Desert... complete with lot's of shells for them to exchange about.
  20. I would actually like a few. I don't have any corals to swap, only green paper and silver metal.
  21. Will Nori suffice? Or should it be something a bit more robust? A clip with nori on it is pretty doable!
  22. Wow!! Do you have to scoop the water out with a spoon to use it? I did a few quick google searches and there seems to be a place where that type of water condition is valuable... Ever thought of becoming a "Hemp Farmer"? As far as a way to lower it, if you are on City Water, I might actually call the water company and see what they have to say about it? -t
  23. I think I had a tank full of those at one point! They multiply really fast and when they form dense patches can be hypnotizing to watch as the current waves them around. I think this link in WetWebMedia may point you in the right direction, if they are what I had, they are definitively Xeniiid of some sort.
  24. Muahhhahaha Now look what you've done! I'm off to buy hermits so that they may roam the desert! Mama, any chance you are around and about and have hermits 10 or so of them?
