  2. its a sad day in acan land. No one wants them and they feel alone...
  3. If all his guts are outside, that's not a good sign. Strange that it happened that fast if it was really healthy when you left. Maybe it was chemical warfare so was there anything close to it that would fight with it?
  4. My SPS threw out their polyps (polyp extension) like crazy as soon as I put in the wavebox. Ask dapettit. Everytime he comes over, he drools over my polyp extension. Is it better for my corals? I don't know, but it sure does look nice and the wave of the softies/anemones is a great soothing pastime after a long day. It draws you in I swear.
  5. I have to disagree about waiting 3 months to add any livestock. Once your tank is cycled, you can add hardy fish and corals without issue if you do it slowly. Plus it will help your good bacteria get going if it has something to munch on. Just do it slowly. Don't buy a whole bunch of fish and throw them all in there at once. Add 1 or 2, wait a week or two, then add another 1 or 2.
  6. try it and see what kinda response you get! Better yet, tell them you read about it "on the internet" so it HAS to be true!
  7. why not? You can measure it!
  8. He's 1 of the 2. No shame in a small tank, and I can see myself having a solana one day, I just wish I'd started bigger to begin with. Or perhaps started with 2 tanks!
  9. Ooops. 2008 was a strange year for me, so I think I erased it from my memory
  10. yeah, but you could dump pure ammonia in your tank and everything would continue to grow. In fact, it'd probably give you instantaneous growth!
  11. I wish I'd started with a larger tank so it'd be further along! I've only met 2 people who didn't want a larger tank. My timeline was: March 08 was a 29G tank June 08 55G tank Nov 08 90G Other than that, I've happy to have done what I've done so that I've learned what I've learned. I haven't had any major accidents or "that was stupid" so I might be a bad person to chime in.
  12. I have a mag 9.5. $50.
  13. I've got a kenya tree and a red mushroom that aren't attached to anything yet.

The polyps are super puffy and they actually sway in the wave from my wavebox. The mother colony is on the right. Be one of 3 people in Austin to own part of this colony! $100
