i was just cleaning up the mess from an external hard drive crash.i happened to run across some pictures of my tank almost exactly a year ago.this is within a week or two of when it was set up.it just so happens i had taken a fts yesterday.thought i would post the progression in almost exactly a year.

good one.i didnt even take the time to notice the flare from the lights on that first pic.i actually cropped everything out except the fish and that made the fish way to grainy.so i didnt even bother to crop after that.oops.lol.

wow. .. . after reading the thread and clicking on the photos i realize i really need to work on my resizing skills.lol

i have never been able to get decent fish shots.so today i thought i would work on that some.here are the best 2 i was able to come up with.man the setting required to get decent fish pics dont do justice for corals.any tips/pointers welcomed

i put my rock directly on the bottom and then put sand around it.this is supposed to be a good way of doing it to keep and tunnels from being created and causing a collapse of rock work.after almost 1 year in this tank i have never had a rock shift(On the bottom).

i am planning to be there.if nothing happens.hopefully it will work out this time.

i sold all the frags,but i still have the mother colonies.if you would like some frags i could make some.just takes a few minutes

what mike said!!!!anything before 9:30 or 10 p.m. is lunch.or a mid afternoon snack.of course I work till 2 or 3 a.m. and only eat 1 meal a day.so my vote don't count.next time you gotta do it on sat.

I keep the alk at about 9dkh and the calcium has finally made it to 400.if I can get it to 420 i'll be happy

the last two pics are a piece of my purple monster that was about 1/4 inch when i fragged it off the top after a power head accident.here is a pic of the main frag i thought i had killed.it has recovered and this pic was taken today

It seems to me since i finally got a decent calcium reactor that my growth has gotten even better.thought i would share pics and get some opinions.each pic has the date it was taken stamped on it.i accidentally hit post while i was typing and it wont let me add pics in edit mode.i will post pics in next post

i picked up a frag of ora pearlberry this weekend.thought i would share some photos.this is a really pretty coral.

i have 3 mini colonies of birds nest i would like to sell.all 3 were cut and mounted a couple of months ago.they have healed and grown on the plugs well.there are 2 very bright green birdsnests.i would like $25 for the larger one it is about 3 inches in diameter and 2.5 to 3 inches tall.it has 3 main branches with lots of smaller branches on each one.the smaller bright green one i would like $15 for.i would say it is about 3/4 the size of the large one.the third one is what i call a ponape birdsnest.it has a line green flesh with brown colored polyps.i would like $20 for it.it is around 3 inches tall and has several branches.both seem to be really fast growers in my tank and i would call on the easy side of sps.i have some pics here that i took today,but they are not great.

i moved my moms solana this weekend.all i did was pump all the water out except for an inch or so.as long as there is a tiny amount of water as to not make waves to knock rocks over,2 or 3 people can move it without re scaping

i will check that out.i think its awesome to see a pond with corals and groups of large tangs and such.

i always wanted to do a marine pond in the back yard.i have seen some in tropical areas where the climate is the right temp year round.

mike that is the closest thing i find to what they are.i am not 100% positive though.i got them as a 3 or 4 polyp frag from gabe when he broke his tank down.if we can id them and they are what you want i'd be glad to make you a frag.

i certainly appreciate that.i will give it a try.the red planet and the oregon tort are the only one i know for a fact are ora.
