oh btw if you are going to replace it the deep sea aquatics 70g is 36x18x26. the height my be a tad off but it is really close to the same size you have. You can get them from the local lfs and they are great tanks
-
so do you need a center brace do to weak glass? my 70 from deepsea does not have a center brace but the thing is built like a tank
-
off topic a little
have we every done a group order with http://www.pacificeastaquaculture.com
just an idea
also like to add they have a ton of nice zoas right now with most being big enough to frag.
-
if you dont get enough poeple and want to wait till the ninth or tenth to order i might pick up a few things

hey everybody thank for the responds, i am going to try my best to help everyone out but i will be out of town this weekend.
i can make more frags of both corals so it wont be a problem.
ps that poseidon's fury frag started with 10 polyps less than a week ago, it seems to be around 15 now. Not often you find a really beautiful paly that grows fast. They love flow!!!! i have a nano power head pointed almost straight at them from about 4-5 inches away and they love it.

thats a great idea, who wants to start making phone calls?
not it
-
oh and i changed my avatar, dont wanna go around scaring people : P
-
Thanks Lisa it was nice meeting you!
-
first make sure all pumps are off, i assume you do this but just thought i would say it anyway. 100mm lenses help A LOT!!!!!
what i like to do is go to zoaid and check out all the pictures that i really like and see what there camera settings are for that photo. It can give you a good starting point.
good luck.

it all depends, my soft corals seem to just "poop" what i call it every now and again. how is everything else doing? is there any reason for them to not be doing well? shrooms are real hardy.

Well, thanks y'all, I'm glad I'm not the only nut! I'm in for the long haul it seems. Last night is a good example, I wanted to write down the t5 bulbs I had, and I took them off just to see the brands and types, and that turned into cleaning the bulbs, reflectors, rearranging end caps etc, when I should have gone to bed.
I did enjoy it, and while it wasnt "fun" per se, it does give me the feeling of accomplishment that its mine to do with as I wish and these creatures are dependent on me for their well being.
So to turn this into reefkeeping discussion, I have a 90G oceanic 48Lx18dx24T with 6 t5 bulbs, here is what I have for bulbs.
Front:
ATI blueplus
Giesemann aquablue+
ATI blueplus
Giesemann aquablue+
Giesemann aquablue+
ATI Procolor
This is wayy to white for me. I would like to add one more ATI blueplus to give it more of a blue hue, perhaps even a super actinic?
fiji purple! i have heard great things about that light

is there a way to do a group buy on that stuff? maybe save some cash
-
also check out the vitamin c thread at reefcentral it has helped a lot of people out

i am only looking for zoa/palys at this moment. If you could post a pic of the frags of have or a name with a picture that looks like it that would work also.
-
with so many different kinds it is really hard to say what i want, cause i want so many : ) Anything that you think is on the nicer end please post up here, i am pretty good with names so that works as well.
thanks
oh and love those purple ones as well, one of my favorites.
-
let me start by saying these colors can look a lot better, i am using a stock nova extreme pro and the pictures are daytime.
looking to trade for nice polyps.
I have two frags right now, one is poseidons fury that has around ten polyps. here is the pic
the other is unknown to me right now still trying to get id, but it is beautiful
here they both are together, the purple frag has 3 good size polyps.
the mother colony for both of these are in my 14g biocube, they love it and grow like crazy. this is a pic from about five months ago. both have over fifty now, even after the frags.
and i might be able to get 1-2 polyps of lunar eclipse if you want.
jason
all pictures taken under stock nova extreme pro with daylights on. minus last pic from biocube : )
-
can you give me a range of time?
thanks for the help
-
well if you guys or gals would like a polyp you might wanna come check them out or i can just come snag it.
-
i am on the northeastcentral side : ) close to 51st and manor
-
does anybody have some Lugol's I can use? I have some really nice zoas coming in tomorrow and i just need a little. I was thinking maybe 6 drops.
Anyway let me know if you can help me out.
i might be able to snag you a frag of a polyp you like also.
thanks jason

hahahahaha your funny captin
it was nice meeting you guys last night, the corals we got are open and doing good.

what i get out of this hobby:
relaxation
knowledge
something amazing in your house
good people
and the list goes on and on.
I never can understand why people would want to get out of this hobby, i spend maybe 30 mins a week on both of my tanks and i make extra money by selling frags. You can keep your tanks and use the money from frags to help out with other things.
But if you truly feel you get nothing out of it i dont see how that will change with something else.
-
polyp is gone but i might be able to get another i have at least 30 more just need to find a good spot to cut. I also just fragged some Poseidons's Fury and some really really nice purple (might be one of he nicest i have seen) polyps that will be ready soon.
