    Lyretail anthias

Wish I had my tank set up...another month...
  2. If I had time to pick them up, I'd take a milli and the mohawks...I killed mine. I just don't have time to drive up your way any time soon. Dena
  3. Clint...great advice on the bulb. I managed to get Jason to let me buy one early...stipulation was that he got to go get a new tool belt, which came with a new tool bag that was full of new tools. LOL. I love the bulb...it only came in a 20K so not good for growth, but coming from slow LED growth, it seems to still be growing faster with the 20K. The color of the Radium bulb is probably as close as I can get to what I want with a Metal Halide. It's not an LED look, but it will do. I had slow growth with the LED's and although I love the color of LED's, the MH's definitely out rank them on speed. It wasn't something I'm worried about though, but I'm enjoying the little branches sprouting up
  4. Jessie, my 30g has a bunch of rubble in the sump that I don't need. I left water in it so it's should still be okay...you can come over tonight if you want.
  5. My ballast is an HQI. I found the Radium bulb on Amazon for 72.99, but it says it's an HRI. Will this work with my ballast? I have a $20 credit with Amazon so this is pretty nice. Dena
  6. Thanks Timfish...I need to learn more about this stuff anyway so the articles will be good to read. Clint, I'll look this bulb up. I've been so busy this week I forgot to ask my husband about the ballast. I asked just now and he has no idea. I'll figure it out myself tomorrow...it's past my bed time. I just moved my corals into the tank last night...on the sand bed so I don't fry them. I have this one milli that has finally started getting it's color the past few months under my LED. It's a nice pink with blue tips. Even this 10K bulb can't make that thing look ugly The only thing that doesn't look great are many of the zoas, the palau and most of the other SPS frags I have. Two milli's still look decent and the chalices, scoly's and brains all kept their color....and of course my RBTA...it's so bright the light doesn't bother that either. At least seeing the others in the tank makes it a little easier having to hold off for the new bulb until we get our taxes. Dena
  7. I can't afford multiple bulbs...it's already got the metal halide mounted in the hood with the two T5's. I would love to just buy a T5 light, but can't afford that right now either. I'm pretty sure a 250W MH is reaching to the bottom of this tank...it's only like 18" deep LOL. Thanks Patrick...now I know where to find a PAR meter if we do need one...appreciate that!!
  8. Clint, I have no idea...it's the one I got from Gabe. I'll have to ask my husband or see if Gabe mentioned it in his post. Yea, I'm happy with how my corals look now, but they are under an LED light - LOL. My 30g currently has a MaxSpect (sp) LED fixture...just don't have enough room in the 30g tank for the SPS AND the RBTA that is getting bigger and bigger. So I needed a larger tank. The LED light will not be enough to support the 84g tank unfortunately. I may see if hubby can rig it up to add to it though. The new setup came with a used 10K Coralife and it's way too white for me. I'm not looking to get major growth...I'm good with things moving slowly, but still growing, ya know. I just want something more on the blue spectrum so things will have a little more pop. For instance, I took a Palau Nepthea from my 30g where it was fluorescent green. I put it in the 84g (it also has two T5's) and it's yellowish-brown. Yucky-poo LOL. I'm guessing sticking with a 14K bulb would be ideal because it's somewhat in the middle. I just don't know what brands are more on the blue spectrum. If there aren't any that are bluer than the Phoenix, then I'll just stick with that one. Thanks, Dena
  9. would trade for a T5 light that will fit the 84g cubish tank I just bought...needs enough bulbs to suppose some SPS.
  10. I need to get a new 250W bulb. I really like the blue color. I have used Phoenix in the past and am so so pleased with them. I still want to get some growth. I'd love to hear some opinions on bulbs others have used. It's a single ended bulb that screws in...not sure if it makes a difference with color or not. Thanks, Dena
  11. It also comes with a universal remote that cost us over $100 and is less than a year old. DVD play is probably only about 6mths.
  12. Brooks you're funny! Yeah, that's Thunder. He has to have his nose in everything! I was in the sump today and he just loves that green frog water detector so he's sticking his nose in with me looking for it.
  13. Lots of options...sorry, my husband wouldn't help me so I don't know exactly what they are LOL. It's in great condition, Model number HL-R5087W. TV is attached to the stand and does not remove. Overall it's 53 1/2" wide, 20 1/2" deep and 55" tall. I posted this on Craig's List for $400, will sell here for $375. Must pick up. Throwing in a free DVD player. Dena
  14. Yea, what she said. I am actually the addict and have to beg hubby when I want something. He just likes to talk about what he builds for me. He hits an occasional meeting also. I get some things just because he likes it, but never hear the end of it when I kill "his" coral.
  15. Chad, you don't need that
  16. Are you sure you don't want my snake instead? LOL.
  17. FYI...corals don't come with it. If you part out, let me know how much you want for the light. Thanks!
  18. I'll also trade for a BioCube or NanoCube 14-28/29 gallons with stand. Don't need anything extra with it unless you have extra...just the tank with stock lighting and pump are fine...and a stand. Our office is moving in February and I'm thinking about setting another larger tank up after we move. Or even one of those new little Fluval ones.
  19. BUMP...still have the Boa. I use to be afraid of them and then one day I was intrigued and had to have one. I'll still have my Python once she's gone...he's my first snake ever. He's had a hard life...yeah, even a snake can have a hard life LOL. I would not recommend this snake to anyone with a small dog though. Once full grown, if she got out of her cage, there is a chance she would go after it. It's one of a few reasons why I was okay with parting her...I have a Pekingese that I acquired last year and I loves her to bits. I will trade for saltwater items for the new 280g set up. Things I need: Tunze Wavebox 4 of the grey bulkheads (nicer made ones that are threaded on inside and out) that fit a 3" hole. 3 of the grey bulkheads (nicer made ones that are threaded on inside and out) that file a 2 1/2" hole. The bulkheads are sold at Bulk Reef Supply Some sort of controller (haven't researched yet) to alert us if water hits the floor. Tunze auto top-off thingy. 12" LED light fixture strong enough for a frag tank I will be using my 48" dual 150W/PC light for now. Ultimately I'll be going LED, but that will be a while. I would love to have to a dual 250W with T5's or PC's in the meantime. Or ideally an 8-10 bulb T5 fixture...or a 72" fixture with MH's or T5's so the whole tank is covered. I'm going to be doing the Tahitian Moon Black sand - will need about 8 bags of that (usually sells for around $20/bag). I'm sure there are things I'm not thinking of. If you have something in mind for a trade, PM me.
  20. BUMP...still trying to sell the Boa. She's in a 135g tank with screened lid and clamps right now. She comes with a large cave and water dish, smaller cave, two UV lamps with bulbs, three heat lamps with bulbs and a bunch of branches. I can even throw in a $60 mister. Asking $200 for everything. This is a photo of the tank as I was setting it up...her accessories were in another tank at the time.
