Just wanted to share the new tank...got this from Gabe recently and moved my 30g contents into it. Almost all of this stuff came from the 30g so you know it was packed.

How slow of a return rate is okay for my size tank?

How many gph is it?

We were thinking about getting a new pump for when we set up the 280g. Question is what flow rate is best? I remember reading a post recently that slower flow rate through the sump is ideal and means a quieter pump. The holes for overflow will be about 2.5". We want to do an external pump to reduce heat in the water. Opinions on size and brand/model would be appreciated. Thanks, Dena

I have a phosban reactor I can throw in also...no pump, just the reactor with some tubing.

Nothing has really changed in the tank, I think it's just space issues now that the other is the same size. Plus my Vlamingi Tang is even bigger than they are...really cramped. I plan to add all the tangs in at the same time...this is what helped me get my yellow tang not to kill my purple one. I have two more tangs in my 84g...may add them to the 280g as well...not sure...maybe just one. I really want to get a powder blue. Thanks guys! They aren't hurting each other and they are still eating so I'll just make them hang in there a little longer. Dena

Clint...great advice on the bulb. I managed to get Jason to let me buy one early...stipulation was that he got to go get a new tool belt, which came with a new tool bag that was full of new tools. LOL. I love the bulb...it only came in a 20K so not good for growth, but coming from slow LED growth, it seems to still be growing faster with the 20K. The color of the Radium bulb is probably as close as I can get to what I want with a Metal Halide. It's not an LED look, but it will do. I had slow growth with the LED's and although I love the color of LED's, the MH's definitely out rank them on speed. It wasn't something I'm worried about though, but I'm enjoying the little branches sprouting up

I've had two in my 120 for over a year now. One was about an inch larger than the other and now both are about the same size. Definitely not enough room in the tank for the two of them at their size now, which I'm guessing is why one of them is picking on the other and chasing it when ever it sees it. We should be setting up our new tank hopefully around the end of the month/beginning of April. It will be the 280g. Question...will the issues these two have settle down once they have more room? Or will I have to look at rehoming one? If I need to rehome it, I would rather do it when I tear down the 120 so I don't have to try catching it twice. Right now they are "pissy" with each other, but have their hiding places and no damage has come to either one. Both seem to be nice and fat so food is getting to each of them. Thanks, Dena

Jessie, my 30g has a bunch of rubble in the sump that I don't need. I left water in it so it's should still be okay...you can come over tonight if you want.

Will lower it to $350 uncleaned or $400 cleaned, and with an AquaC skimmer (works great) instead of the tunze.

I have a frag rack that is just a home made job out of acrylic that I can throw in also...and two black ones that stick to the sides of the tank. They don't hold on the 84g because the acrylic is almost an inch thick.
