  6. I should have summited something that happened when cleaning the skimmers muck: My 14yr. old daughter exclaimed, "what was that revolting smell". At first my 8yr. pointed out it, must be Zeus's (110 lb. German Shepherd) mess. My 14 yr. replied "No, his doesn't smell that bad". My 8yr. "Ohh, mama is washing the skimmers". Eeeewwwww!!!!!! I thought that was so funny.

  13. Your tank looks great, even from such a recent move. Keep it up and you will have that tank almost, emphasis the word almost, the way you like it. Like always, we reefers have to tinker with it . Cindy
  14. Thanks for the info.
  15. Hey Andrew........I'm doing great! If you read about the fiddler crabs....they like to step out of the water once in while. We were trying to set up more rock in the middle of the tank so a small portion of it would stick out......but I haven't gotten around it yet. I don't know why they need to step out of the water but that is what I read about them. Whenever I get to frag a couple of those palys.....I will let you know...they are growing all over the rock. Maybe I can chip off a piece of the rock and it will be alot easier for them too They get to be around 1/2" to 3/4" in diameter. Cindy
  16. It is an ocellaris. True perculas, from what I've heard, have more black right around the black margin. Andrew, if you look at the pics on my blog you can see the difference in the pattern.
  17. Does anyone know where to get CO2 refilled on a weekend?

    My tank

Karen, Your tank is looking good. And your right, once you add more rock it will change the whole look and you'll be able to acquire some more corals. Keep it up Cindy
  19. #2 - Yesterday I picked up some really nice mushrooms (thanks, Cindy!). May favorite one is a blue-purple velvet looking one. Unfortunately while trying to position it, it slipped behind the anemone. The BTA is spread out really wide across the intersection of 3 larger rocks - 2 rocks side by side and one underneath them, about midway in my rockpile. I moved the BTA once and the next morning it was right back. Anyway, the mushroom fell right in the tiny hole between all these rocks that is completely covered by this 6" wide anemone. I can't get to the mushroom from behind, and I tried to "coax" the anemone to move over last night and it's hanging on tight. Should I just write off the mushroom, or what? Karen, I wouldn't worry about the mushroom, you will be surprise that they are very hardy and they will find a way to attach to rock and move where there is light. That's from my experience with those mushrooms. If it perish, just come back and I'll give you one free of charge. Good luck with the anemone, Cindy
  20. How about iodine? Have you been dosing your tank iodine? I've heard that xenia needs iodine, although I don't know how much, maybe if you could find a decent iodine test kit, that might help.
  21. Congrats!!! The percs look happy and the tank looks great. Keep it up. Cindy
