  1. Just curious......washing the eggs off your windows??? What happened?
  2. The only places I've seen them is at Horizon Aquatics and Aquatek. May I suggest that before purchasing a seahorse, check them out and see for yourself if they're eating mysis.
  3. Hi Karen, You may consider some gobies......I have the Randall, Clown Circus Goby, Yellow watchman Goby (blue spots), Highfin Goby w/pistol shrimp, all in the same tank and get along. They all made their homes in perspective areas. By the way, congrats on your new set up.....I can just picture that grin on your face . Enjoy!!!!
  4. Red Velvet Wrasse. Reduce to $35, still for sale.
  5. I'll give it a try.....see if it works.
  6. Good question. I thought I was the only one. I prefer the way it was before.
  7. That's a great idea...I just did a water change and I still have 15g. left. I can run some test if you'll don't mind. The salt we've been using lately for the past month is Seachem Reefsalt. The test kits brand (Seachem for Mg./Ca). Noodle aka Yun, she was trying to attempt on running some test, but no luck since she's been working long hours. -Cindy-
  8. Hello LEW....where you the guy w/small beaker at the last frag swap? Anyways, here something that we read about increasing magnesium. http://ozreef.org/diy_plans/additives/magnesium.html http://www.reefland.com/rho/2006/05/sea_salt_study.php
  9. Smart move Dave!...My husband has to do the same thing with our breaker. It's an older home so therefore, we had to re-wire and update the outlets. This parts were ancient, he gets upset at the fact that some of this older homes can ever go thru inspection---- fire hazardous.
  10. Oh yeah! Most wrasses will do fine if fed once a day......some may also scavenge for fireworms, pyramidellid snails and other unwanted pests. The only reason this particular wrasse grew fast, is because of the feeding times in the seahorses tank. We are trying to cut back on the fish load and I got another wrasse that jumped into the sump. Got to get her out of there.
  11. Yes.....were in Leander. If you're interested let me know day and time, except on Thursday, we'll be busy.
  12. Red Velvet Wrasse Reduce to $35 *Bump*
  13. We've tested magnesium on TM it came out to 875, not what I was hoping for and CA was also low. I'll be mixing a batch of Seachem Reef Salt tonight, I can post the Mg, CA and KH results tomorrow. We've been using Seachem Magnesium Test Kit and also for CA. Very dissapointing to know this salts don't come close to what an actual reef needs. Let me just say that by adding Epsom Salt has surely help with the growth of SPS in addition to CA reactor.
  14. You'll be the 1st to know. Thanks, -Cindy-
  15. Since the bowfront tank has no cover or canopy and he has tried several times to jump.....I'm afraid one day I'll find it on the bar or the floor. The main purpose for us to have it at the time in this particular tank was to control the overpopulated bristle worms. This fish was about 1" when we got it and since we feed the seahorses 3 times a day, he grew fast. I might as well reduce the price as long as I know the person has a cover top or canopy.
  16. I've decided to sell our male red velvet wrasse (Cirrhilabrus rubrisquamis). He's over 3" in length and very healthy w/a great personality. I'm asking $45...OBO. Here are some links to read on: http://www.vividaquariums.com/10Expand.asp...Code=01-5014-10 http://www.marinedepotlive.com/red-velvet-...h--wrasses.html
  17. That's an awesome offer Joseph....you're a cool guy!!! Good Luck! -Cindy-
  18. It's really interesting something like this happening in an environment you created......haven't had a major loss or that has attacked any of my favorites...but I'm glad I found out sooner then later.
