  1. YES! I too am wondering if there is an optimal (cost & convenience wise) schedule. Have there been any long-term studies on the effects of frequency vs. quantity and where the various parameters start to curve? I know every tank is different. (Filtration, stocking level, circulation, quality of raw water and salt, etc.) But surely it is more science than art... Medinize (is that a word?) the variables and surely there can be some scientific conclusions drawn. Thanks Karen for starting an important discussion for those of us who are relatively naive and relatively new reef addicts.

    Live Sand

I could use some live sand. I have various zoos and a cool candy cane but I have no experiance fragging. A couple anemonies are available too. I would also consider trading a new water top off.
  3. I'm in if there is going to be a group order. I would like a dozen blue legs and a dozen emeralds.

    Pulsing Xenia

I PM'd you. These will do OK under Metal lights, right?
  5. Sorry to hear about your friend. :-( They are lucky to have someone who cares as much as you. I will buy three heads for $50 but I just lost a condy that has goofed up my tank. Can you hold it for a week or two while I get my parameters under control?
  6. Where is Austin Aquariums? I would love to check it out.
  7. Yeah, I have the same question and would love an experienced reefer to help out...
  8. I will be there too. If I can find the place... (I am new to Austin and am slowly learning my way around. Especially around the traffic.)
  9. I would love to but it is out of my league right now and I don't have a lot to offer in trade besides a colorful foxface. Also, I have no idea how to frag any of the goodies I have growing so "sorry"
  10. Where are you located? I am N. Austin and am interested in the; sump, 55 undergravel, refugium and an air pump or two.
  11. I love the topic! Perfect for a nwebie like me. So just be sure to schedule it when I can attend! Haha, OH, OH, OH, How bout video of the "meat & potato" part of the meetings being posted. I attended the photo meeting a few weeks ago and would like to have it available for review so I could remember what he said about the correlation (or was it reverse correlation?) between the F-stop and the focal length.
  12. How 'bout advantages / disadvantages of automation and reef controllers vs supplements and dosing, or some cool diy mods. Just a newbies perspective... You all have probably been there, done that.
  13. Can I come by and see it? 512-673-6633 Thanks, Sean
  14. Do you still have anything to sell? I would like to come by and check out the setup too.
  15. How much do you want for it? Would you consider piecing it out? Do you have any pictures? I'm sure i could think of a few more questions if you aren't tired of them yet?
  16. Thank you Stacy, It was nice to meet you, and thanks for the goodies. They look great in my tank. My wife loves the big one. Good luck with your reef! Sean :-)
  17. I will buy them all but I absolutely won't go over $25. (How’s that for being definitive and decisive?) ;-) Oh, What is the best way to do this? I live/work in N. Austin (Avery Ranch/Parmer/620 area) and can get to Leander pretty easy. Thanks, Sean :-) 512-673-6633

    Chaeto!

Joseph, Thanks for the goodies and the advice! You have a really nice setup. Sean

    Chaeto!

I would like some if it is still available. When can I come by?
  20. I think I might be interested. (Hows that for ambiguity?) Would you perhaps be interested in a condylactis anemone or two? How much $ would you want for each? :-)
  21. I use two 40 gallon trash cans I bought @ Lowes or Home Depot. The round Plastic Kind with the lid, I use the same setup for water changes. I use a strong pump (mag 700 gph. ) with my hose to transfer the water from back of van to aquarium. Two Concrete blocks on top of the lids help to keep spills down & don't fill the trash Cans more than 2/3 full. Drive slowly from RCA to the house & no sudden stops or turns! It works well for me & hope this helps. =-)
  22. Shoot, I wish i knew about this before it was over... =-(
  23. I need a chiller. My new lights and the summer heat are heating the system (135gal.) about 9 deg. f. during the day. Any suggestions? Thanks, Sean :-)
