Yay! Water!
-
Very nice!

Wo... that is fast! I know the feeling.. I tried to speed things up when I first re-set up a tank... with very mixed results. Looking forward to lots of success with yours!

Yay! Back in business!

He's back in the salty side! Yay!

That is not bad for cloudy water. I didn't rinse my live sand on my current tank, and this is what it looked like for a few days.
The blue/white filter floss helped to clean it up.

Also, my wife already vetoed the square corners so I'll have to replace the top board to go all the way to the side boards. No corners for this guy.
So you will be ... <drum roll> ... cutting corners?

Ooo, the flareback will be a nice addition! Saw one in my LFS the other day, and almost bought it. Such striking blue lines.

Impressive! Very impressive!

The colors on that magma wrasse sure do pop!

I thin I said it before, but that Bandit Angel is awesome!

The larger tank for the Goni's makes sense. Thanks for the info.

How hard are the goni's to keep? What are their requirements (food/light)? I remember back-in-the-day they were almost impossible to keep for some reason.

Beautiful! This is reminding me that I probably should add some leather corals into my tank
And I love that huuuuuge cup coral! That was one of the first corals I had way back when in a tank.

Can't wait to see this progress! Looking great so far!

That is a sharp looking tank!

I'd go 60 James... Fish dying that quick is the mark of velvet.
Agreed. Thanks for the voice of reason.

Which Theme are you using? (at very bottom of the site there is a drop-down to select a Theme). These are all customized and some have not been updated to the latest version.
It was Grey Chrome. Switching to another one fixed things. Thanks.

Thanks James. For those GOT fans... Winter is here! Diseases are very common these days from wholesale facilities, this isn't like buying fishes back in the day. We have a very real marine velvet issue in the hobby now. Buyer beware!
Thanks! Come by Austin one day and get another baby fungia! If you make the trip from San Diego, the fungia is free.
Hmm.. after reading your thread, I am starting to wonder if I had Brook or Marine Velvet rip through my tank. I am currently 30 days fallow in the tank, and was originally going to wait 60 before trying fish again. I am trying to be good and wait the 60 days.. but these stupid flatworms are making me want a six line.
And I wish I would be making a trip back, but doubt anytime soon (unless work sends me... we did buy an Austin firm). Always appreciate the offer

just buy a mini and parallel park in the other half plus, that car might fit you better?

Hey.. that was no attack, but a compliment. Nothing wrong with owning a Mini... You could join me in the Mini club

Oh man... sorry to hear about all of the fish losses.
I have been battling with a lot of diseases and pests out here in SoCal with my new tank that I never dealt with in my whole 20+ years of saltwater keeping. I was thinking it was just the local or one particular LFS. But hearing about your tragedy, I am wondering if it is something at a grander level.
Loved the picture of the plate coral bonanza!
