Looking great!
I also need netting solution as we found our six line on the floor the other day.

Hey, this tank is still going
I just added a new RBTA this past Saturday... the clowns are really happy and started hosting in it that same day. My other one bleached out after a salinity spike (note to self, don't dose calcium in a small tank).
On a side note, these (very poor quick) pictures show how much my birds nest has grown on the year.

So are the lights all the way across? I couldn't tell from their site. I have a biocube 29 and have 3 bml in the original hood.
Not quite all the way edge to edge with the lights. There seems to be an inch or so blank non-lit space on each end. My 48" BML lights have LEDs all the way to the end caps.
-
Never mind. I just saw on their site they have 18" ones now.
Yeah, but it is like you said. They basically packaged a 12" in a longer body. For my needs, it should work fine.

*tap tap* Is this thing on?
Thought I would give a quick update on the tank, since I am in the process of replacing the lights. It was time for the MH bulb to be replaced, so I have started the transition to LEDs.
I just added a 18" Current Orbit LED strip to the tank. The good, the blues are fantastic:
The other good thing is the cool scheduling and light ramping you can do with them.
The bad? The white are not that bright. I foresee a BML reef strip in my near future for the tank.
Other tank updates:
I lost the last anemone shrimp I had put in. He got caught in the surface skimmer and just never made a recovery. The sexy shrimp have vanished too.
Not sure on the status of the pom pom crab, as he was super tiny to begin with, but haven't seen it in a long time.
The birds nest colonies I have bounced back in color and have been growing tons.
My poor rose BTA just has had it rough. I had a salinity spike, which I think caused it to start bleaching. It has bleached pretty badly at this point. Trying to keep the feedings up on it, and hoping the new lights will also help. To make matters worse (maybe), it split the other day... so far the two anemones are sticking right in the same spot.
The clowns seem like they want to lay eggs, but haven't seen any yet.
And that is the update.

This club and the Austin area has been lucky to have an event like this, which not only let people buy frags and fish, but listen to great speakers, and to support great causes.
There are numerous people and companies that put in effort for this to happen.
First and foremost, a huge shout out and thank you to Mike for being the driving force behind this event and the club. His tireless work is what made this event happen.
And a big thank you to our speakers who took time away from their busy schedules and families to come give us insight into the marine hobby. All three gave us great new views and information. And Gary's addition to the speaker panel was great.
And speaking of, this event would not have gone off without our wonderful and amazing event sponsors. Not only do they help fund the event and bring great things for people to buy, they also went above and beyond with tank donations for the scholarship raffle.
Thanks are also needed for the ARC staff and volunteers that helped setup up, run, and break down things. It is great that they also took time out of their schedules to make this event a success.
A big congrats to our two scholarship winners! Through the generosity of sponsors donating tanks, attendees buying raffle tickets, and ARC premium member dues we were able to fund these two scholarships and set up to fund more in the coming years. For those that were not in attendance, you missed a moving tribute by Mike about Tim, and you also missed Tim's family being there to give out the scholarships.
Finally, I wanted to thank all that attended. You are the reason this is put on. We hope you learned something and enjoyed the event. If you have any feedback, please feel free to PM myself, Mike, or any of the staff. We are always looking for ways to make this better!
So here is to a successful 2014 C4!

I was thinking the same thing, but saw this on the first page of this thread.
What Roy said.

Yes, the tube anemone is NPS. I found a real good article on them the other day:
http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2004/6/inverts
It evens references last year's C4 speaker James Fatheree (the clam guy)
I am glad I found that article, as I would have not thought to offer smaller items also... I had kinda figured it would just want large ticket food.

Hey, I thought i saw you hanging around my sump too much James! Great pictures btw,
Busted!
Yes, this is a Limited Edition Ty plate and he is just always happy and puffed up. Much more so than my green plate I have.

Now I know why I was on a meeting hiatus..... Every time I go to one I either leave poorer or with new ideas (or both in this case). Thanks to Ty and his awesome open floor plan tank, I came home and did some re-arranging in mine. Took out a few paly encrusted pieces (*cough* for sale) to open things up. I then added a piece of Ty grown hydrophorna (probably butchered that, but to lazy to look up the correct spelling now). I also acquired an orange tube anemone from Nikos Reef. Picture will come in a few days when the dust settles.
But the fun did not stop there tonight. After the great rearrange, i noticed some water on the floor behind the tank. Further inspection led to me finding my hang on the back fuge was leaking. So glad I saw it then instead of 2 in the morning when the water alarms under the tank would have went off. It was leaking from an input junction and didn't look easily fixed, so I took the whole think off and put a spare hang on the back skimmer on. Truthfully it was time for the fuge to be cleaned, as I have never done any real maintenance on it in about 4-5 years. I think I am going to run fuge less for a while. While cleaning it out I did find a 2-3 inch brown filtering clam inside of it on the wall. I chunked him into the main tank behind the rock work.
All fish were accounted for except my six line wrasse, which hopefully was just scared into the rock work. Hope to see him in the morning.

I have not seen my porcelain crab feed the anemone. I have seen him eat the anemone slime when it sheds some off (yeah, great visual for a Friday morning breakfast). The clowns are good about taking large pieces of food to the anemone.
-
RIP to the skunk clown. Found him extremely dried out behind the tank today I had him around 4 to 5 years... not exactly sure what finally provoked him to jump out.

A few quick updates. After the Dome meeting, I started upping my feeding schedules for the tanks to every other day. Of course the fish and anemones where happy about it... but not sure my birds nest in this tank where. I left for a few days and came back to my green birds nest browned out. Some light reading suggested that too much nutrients in the water will cause this as the brown algae in the coral multiply to help handle it. So basically you have to starve SPS to make them pretty in color (silly colored sticks).
Other than that, I have not seen my pom pom crab, but that is not a surprise as he was tiny. But I also have not seen my two sexy shrimp. They normally where hanging around the front of the tank in the Kenya tree. I think they might goners... maybe the pistol shrimp go them, as they did hang around near one of his entrances.

Ah, the December Early Bird Page is gone now.
Here is the correct link: February Early Bird Tickets
I will correct the original post. Thanks for finding this!

Hey guys, I've got another new and aggravating problem. I tried to go to the ARC store to buy my C4 ticket, it says "you are not allowed to purchase that". What gives, cause I know that ain't right, LOL. That shows up when I go to the C4 page in news and updates, then try to click on the link to go to the ARC store. A little help, please?
At what point does it give you that error? When you try adding the ticket to the cart? Or when you try to check out?

I like the predatory tank idea. I have seen some cool ones at Fish Gallery and the Dome lately.

On my Canon, when you move into the manual shooting modes, you can then select the focus point. You probably have that same ability.

Meeting at a LFS to sell something can be damaging to profits
I picked up a Starry Blenny today while at RCA. He is cool, and the family is fascinated with him.
Broke out the camera to take some quick pictures... nothing stellar.
Had to take a shot of my tube anemone too... love that thing!
