      what you're seeing is a result of a type of separation anxiety. You'll need to give it time. My dog went through the same phase after my other dog passed away. It took a good 6 months or so before she was behaved enough to go hiking again. Try taking her/him on a solo trip hiking, throw some toys, etc.. Its honestly fairly rare for a golden retriever to become violent. Did the two have a long history together?

      Both dogs have been together all their lives got them both at 8 weeks old the same month and the golden is 3 years old now. I have taken her to pace bend a few times since the other dog died but any time she finds other dogs she gets mean. I think I need to hit up the dog whisperer lol

      if you can, try taking her to st.edwards park off old spicewood springs road. It's a great place for dogs, leash free, huge, and even when the parking lot is full, you rarely see anyone. Or a midweek camping trip to like lockhart state park or something. Dogs really appreciate that. They're very symbiotic to humans and their companions, so just like a human, give her time and patience. As I said, it took mine about 6 months before she let -anyone- through the front door without s...
