  1. Should the baffles leading into the return section be lower or should both sets be the same height?

Same height. A friend of mine here in San Antonio is really, really good with acrylic. He is who built it. His screen name is Hobogato on MAAST.

  2. Here's the sump I just had built for my 185. My tank is a 5' tank.

Just for your consideration in brainstorming.

The first section to the left is the intake side. This will be the fuge with LR and chaeto. The middle section is for the DSB. The reactors will also be in this section. The next section is for the beastly skimmer. Then on to the return section. This is where the tunze osmolator sensor and reactor pump will be. I still need to drill a 3" hole for the bulkhead. I'm running a reeflo snapper circulation pump. Also had an acrylic drip tray for the pump to sit in for identifying seal failures on the pump.

    Overall dimensions are 48"LX24"wX20"h

Water level in the first two chambers is 16" then dropping to 7.5"in the skimmer section.

  3. Tucker was a great movie. At least they were all in the same biz though. This is ridiculous, to be honest. I looked up the (lack of) similarities of the logo. I call PR stunt! If this is real, McDonald's is next on the list...

  4. Unfortunately quite a few of the items we purchased are manufactures over seas. And with advances in online shopping its possible to find the same product with another name. They can over produce what the company is ordering from them. This allows the mfg company to pad their bottom line. All the r&d and engineering is done. I've had good luck most everytime due to this process. Problem is usually no local support and warranty service.

  5. I got a hm1 dual inline TDS meter on eBay for $24 brand new. I know you said you wanted to avoid online stuff but, that was too good to pass up.
