  1. If the Regal is eating pull and treat him with ttm and toss him in the tub.

    72 days will fly by...

Regals are delicate, who says with ich in the tank and more fish if it'll just succumb to ich anyway if you just do ich maintenance...

Ich free tanks are very possible...

  2. ****...

I'll never run any tank uncovered... even non jumpers can and will jump.

Witnessed one of our crosshatches slam into the netting and cause a massive splash. Never thought they were jumpers.

When I add nori to the tank each day, the Flame Wrasses are always skimming the top of the water. Makes me nervous as hell, even being right there...

  3. Bandit angel...

    +1 Great fish!

Ours is really active and is always interested in what we're doing it.

Was a little prick to the new smaller angel, but he's calmed down now. Just had to establish dominance I guess.

  4. Get rid of the Blue Tang and Emperor.

The Blue Tang is the devil... Ty is fish whispering our old YB Blue though ;)

Go for a slightly smaller full sized angel. The Bandit we picked up has become my favorite fish in the tank. Personality for days. Even in QT he always seemed to be looking at me like, where my clams at bro?

  5. That would drive me nuts...

Does Shane still plumb tanks like that, or has he moved to Bean Animal style overflows/drains?

Only time I ever got noise on either the frag tank or the display is:

    - When I get lazy and don't touch the frag tank for months.

    - When the display hits flush modes and I get a bit of a surge into the emergency pipe on the display.

I know Shane likes to keep his overflows small, but I wouldn't trade that for noise.

To save tank space, did an external box on the frag tank, the display is large enough that a small box at the top center didn't bother me.

  6. Born Slippy nuxx is awesome by the way. Underworld is fantastic music to program to.

LOL yeah... when I was younger it seemed to really help with coding, well those type of artists in general.

Now I do most of my work during the work day, so mostly the news in on and later in the day I'll put some music on.

  7. Odd thing, but it loves nori! I threw a sheet in there and as usual, the tangs destroyed it and as the little pieces flake off, the other fish usually pick those off instead of getting into the tang feeding frenzy. This little guy dives right in the scrum with 6 large tangs and doesn't bat a fish eyelash... if those even exists.

Ours does the same exact thing... first into the pieces of Nori on the rocks.

Also first at the top of the tank during feeding times. Eats like a pig.

Also really strange... our Crosshatch Triggers are obsessed with nori. They will just go all out at it. If a piece comes off the rock, they will play tug of war with it...

I'm trying to get two Hawaiian Cleaner Wrasses to try next. Pretty bad mortality rate, but I wanted to try a new QT procedure I've had good luck with and see what happens smile.png

  8. LOL got the new skimmer today...

Man this thing is a BEAST!!!

I was a little worried it wouldn't fit in my sump... managed to shoehorn it in there though...

It's dead silent as well, which I love smile.png

Just need to get a PVC elbow to put the water back down into the sump. It pushes a lot of water out through the exhaust pipe.

For reference, the stand is 42" tall wink.png

  9. All rock and sand in now smile.png

One WP60 went out... looks like power supply and controller burnt out... tried my other's controller and power supply on it and worked just fine...

Sent an email to Fish Street about it... hopefully can get a new one soon...

Also my new skimmer and 2 WP25s should be here today. Want to add the WP25s to the sump to make a little more turbulence in there...

  10. Just messed around with my rock for a bit...

What direction do you think I should go from here? Higher?

It's about 1/2 - 2/3rds of my rock. Picking the rest up this weekend, going to try something more elaborate with them with pins and mortar while the rest of the rock is out of the tank.

Some caves and bridges that didn't come through in the picture on the right as well. Also going to fill in some of the empty area in the left-center, but I don't want a continuous line of rock.

  11. Stopped by Patrick's this weekend up picked up about 1/2-2/3rds of my rock.

Just dumped in the tank Saturday, starting messing with it Sunday... realized when you start moving it around the tank, it's really not that much!

Pic is from Saturday night, when it was just dumped in the tank. Put two weak LED fixtures on there temporarily.

Nice little snails and crabs came with the rock too wink.png

  12. Well the WP60s got a lot more quiet when I moved them more into the center of the side panels and added more water.

My wife helped me move the first one, and I forgot to remind her how strong the magnet was.

Needless to say when I was moving the powerhead, she lifted the magnet about an inch off the tank and it shot down 10" to the stand. Made a crazy noise, and that was all the help I got last night...

Was pretty crazy how much force was needed to get the magnet off of the stand lol
