  1. I have a daylight on on my sump over some Cheato and it does great. not sure your going to get the best spectrum for coral growth thought. I have an 48" coralife powercompact I would sell. I have seen folks keep sps under similar lighting on smaller tanks. as long as you can place the corals high in the tank I bet it would work.

  4. I am moving my 75 to a 90 and debating if I want to keep my sand or changed to crushed coral or just get new sand.

Please let me know your thoughts/experience

I'm guessing I have 90-100lbs of live rock. I keep chaeto in the sump with a BRS GFO/Carbon filter and of course a protein skimmer. I keep a mixed reef with lps, sps, fish and inverts. I'm running 2-250w MH and 4 actinics. Im currently dosing BRS two part but will be switching to B-Ionic once I run out of BRS.

  5. I brew as well. you can hunt craigslist for supplies.

I found my first brew pot at target for $15 and still use it, a lot. you can check some local bakeries and see if they have a food grade bucket to use as a primary ferment. the only thing I had a hard time finding was an inexpensive car boy. if you think this is a hobby you will keep up I would suggest getting a kit from Austin Home Brew, makes life much easier to have all the right equipment from the beginning. happy brewing.

any ARC members interested in doing an ARC brew exchange, I haven't made any in awhile but would be willing to trade some once I do

  6. How old is it? Usually if it's within two years, u can take it to Tunze directly and they will replace it for you. They are in town in Austin. If it's over two years, you can purchase the actual replacement pump online through their website.

thanks for the tip, Im sure its older than 2 as I bought it used about a year ago. I will check their site for a replacement.
