  1. Certifications: My older sister was NAUI, I am PADI and there are a few others out there. It makes a quality difference who trains you, not just the curriculum. But be careful that your certification is accepted in the places you are going.

I'm going with Scubaland for a refresher course. Not that the other ones are bad, I just felt comfortable with their crew and recs from friends.

  2. Thanks for the welcomes. I am starting virtually from scratch, but I have an idea of what I want. The RedSeaMax setup at Aquadome is beautiful.

I hope I can visit here and meetings more often than last time.

(Oh, and if anyone needs a dive buddy)

  3. Hey everyone,

Post divorce (2 years), I am trying to make a recovery back into reef keeping. Seems like so much has changed. LEDs are affordable, new RedSeaMax 400L is not (lol).

I have been keeping since 1980's. Just need a little encouragement and advice to get me going again.

Living in Pfugerville, so neighbors welcome to chat.

    Later,

  4. I just re set up my RSM 130 after moving to my new apartment. (Everything died in the divorce/move)

I have 30-40lbs live(ish) rock in there and an extra powerhead circulating the water.

The temp in my home is 81-85, but this morning(and yesterday) the temperature was 86+ in my tank. I had the lights off all day.

Is the extra powerhead giving off that much heat?

    Am I needing to buy a fan/chiller?

If I need a chiller, what kind should I get for that size tank?

    Any help is appreciated,

    Dan

  5. I have a 29 gallon that I was using as a frag tank. It comes with a 150W Metal Halide clamp on light.

Will sell set for $140 or

sell light alone for $150 and tank for $25.
