  1. Sort of like asking if you would rather kiss Phyllis Diller or Jennifer Aniston? ; ) This would work much better for you. You have a 55 Gallon and I have run this on a 45 gallon and it did a great job. Lee
  2. It's yours. I have a bucket you can take it home in on Tuesday. Lee
  3. I have two buckets (5 Gallons each) full of black and white sand. This sand has been out of a tank for a few weeks so it is definitely not live sand. Great color combination with both black sand (which doesn't buffer) and white sand (which does). $10 for a lot of sand. Also have about 1/2 bag of unused sand for $5. I have a stand for a 20gallon long or 29/30 gallon tank or less. The top has been wet and doesn't look good (could be replaced) and the rest looks fine. This is free. I have quite a bit of live rock rubble still in heated saltwater. This would be great for fuge, mounting frags, and some pieces for a nano. I will say $10 for the whole bucket, $5 for half. Lee in Georgetown
  4. This is a great HOB skimmer with the drain mod and a MJ 1200 for juice. The lid cracked once when I dropped the lid while cleaning. You can see it is repaired just fine: I am in Georgetown. Lee
  5. Looks great, water looks very clear!! Love the orange sponge. Lee
  6. Great news, River City to the rescue!!! Carlos had a panworld that was the exact same rating as the Iwaki. I will work on getting the Iwaki fixed as an emergency backup for myself and others!! Thanks to Carlos and Misti for being a lifesaver. Also, did I mention I picked up one of the three Dustin's Deepwater Acro's will I was there. ; ) Lee
  7. I am setting up my 225 and had bought a used Iwaki MD55RLT. Wired the plug and it isn't working a lick. First, I know the plug is wired correctly. Second, you plug it in and nothing happens, I mean nothing happens. Does anyone have a similarly rated external pump (around 1200 gph with 1" input and output both are MPT)? I am so screwed. Not very happy to say the least. It is 1:30 a.m. and I need this tank up and going for a big event at our house on Friday night. It doesn't have to be Iwaki, but does need to have the 1" MPT outlet/inlet and the similar rating. Thanks a ton. Lee
  8. I was thinking the same thing Gabe was thinking. I think we should see what a $4,000 24 Gallon Nano looks like!!! ; ) Lee
  9. I love my Phoenix 14K bulbs. I have used both 150 and 250 watt bulbs on different setups. Lee
  10. I will take the rock and the lunar light. Lee
  11. Put me next in line for Mandarin. I am setting up a 225 gallon tank with lots of live rock that have been in tanks for years. Lee
  12. Welcome to ARC SirReal63. There are some great hobbyists in the area to be sure!! Lee
  13. 1.) I have seen over 580 species of birds in North America. 2.) I keep venomous snakes and tarantulas in addition to my tank. 3.) I owned a turquoise and white 58 Edsel Corsair Show Car with 53,000 original miles that won over 20 trophies. 4.) During my college years I traveled the country selling sports memorabilia at card shows around the nation. 5.) I first met the woman I married in 7th grade at age 11, we began dating when we were 15 and we have been married for seventeen years. Lee
  14. I have used Koralia #2 and #4 and loved them both! Never used Seio, but even the design I believe points to the effectiveness of a pump. Lee
  15. Yea, but it is over $2.00 a linear foot at HD. I can mail order for less than $90 a sq. ft. I was just checking to see if someone has some they didn't use to save money and time!! Lee
  16. Does anyone have a roll or partial roll of Spaflex you are looking to get rid of? I can mail order for a decent price but thought I would check the club first. Lee
  17. 1.) I am going to attempt to sell as a setup until Tuesday. 2.) If no one has bought the setup, I will begin parting out on Tuesday. 3.) You may claim dibs now. 4.) I will take Paypal. 5.) I will not sell the MH bulbs separate from the fixture. 6.) This was the tank I used for my scorpion and leaffish with SPS. 7.) I am selling because my wife said if I got the 225 Gallon tank all the others had to go! 8.) I have an acrylic (black) overflow that would need to be made shorter that I will throw in for whoever buys the tank in the event you wish to drill it or have it drilled. 45 Gallon (48LX18WX12H) Tank (non-drilled) - This is an excellent quality tank as it is exactly like River City Aquatics display Tanks (same glass thickness and everything - it was bought from there new about one year ago at the most). Stand - I just redid the stand and painted it a cool black using a slightly textured paint. Tank and Stand - $100 Giesemann 40" 2 X 150 Watt DE MH Fixture. Running with Phoenix 14K bulbs with lots of life left. I have some wire for hanging the fixture from your ceiling. Fixture Part Out Price - $400 with bulbs Aquaclear 70 with Hagen Surface Skimmer - $30 (2) Maxijet 1200 Powerheads - $8 each Mag-Float - $7 TOTAL SETUP PRICE (FIRM) - $475 This setup would be killer for frag propagation, clam tank, sps with predator fish like Scorpionfish, or if you would like to also see from top down. Thanks, Lee
  18. Hey folks, Want to do some cool pillars in my new tank. I was wondering where I could buy some acrylic rods to make the pillars with? For those who have made pillars, is it better to use acrylic rods or pvc pipe? Thanks, Lee
  19. Chip, It isn't ready to go just yet, but I have a great Aqua C Urchin HOB with Maxi-jet 1200 that I will be selling for $70. It is on a tank that will be coming down within the next few weeks. Lee
  20. For a tank that size, check out the #4's. I have some of the Koralia's and have been very pleased. The Tunze nanostreams have been breaking (the holders) big time on me (I have had to superglue three arms). Lee
  21. That is the tank indeed. Euroreef is also coming out with a cool pico tank which should hit around the end of the year/first of next year. The light appears to either be loved or hated. I like it with the rimless look. I have inquired at a local fish store as to whether they can get them in or not (referring back to the Current Solana). To see a bit more you can try searching the posts on the big central reef site and look for Melev's photos of MACNA. There is an on-line store that is selling the Solana but I don't think you can post their website, but it seems phishy to me ; ) Lee
  22. Have you seen the new Current USA Solana rimless cube? 34 Gallon and has a cool metallic looking 150 Watt MH DE fixture. I am looking into one myself. Do a google search and you will get a couple of hits on it. Lee
  23. Mike, No, I wasn't at all suggesting you were being unethical. If you were, you wouldn't have told people up front. Once you have and they take the corals then that is totally their decision. I am just saying that I assure people that the controls suggested on most forums don't work for bryopsis. I think that since you stated up front what was in the tank then you were doing just fine. If someone wants to take the rsik then that is their choice. However, that freebie better be worth everything in their tank if it brings bryopsis with it. I was just hoping to inform people before they made the choice (and I have do doubt you did as well). Oh, well, haven't posted in months and first one gets someone riled up. Back to lurking. Lee
