  1. I have 2 x 24" UVL Super Actinics and ended up preferring the purple color over half Actinic White and half Super Actinic.

  3. Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts and experiences with return pumps. Due to space limitations in my sump, I may have to drill the return section and figure out how to mount a pump externally.
  4. I had used this online salinity adjustment calculator a long time ago when I installed my ATO sensor's incorrectly. http://www.saltyzoo.com/SaltyCalcs/SalinityAdjust.php Hope this helps!
  5. I think I saw these at Fishy Business the other day...
  6. I noticed that when my return pump is running, my system experiences a temperature swing from 73 degrees to 78+ degrees. I have a 1" durso overflow on the back upper corner of the display aquarium with a mag 7 return pump. Evaporative cooling is currently provided by 4 high CFM fans in the canopy controlled by an apex controller and two fans over the sump. My concern is that the addition of another mag 7 pump may negate any benefit that I may receive from my chiller. Instead, I would like to try installing the chiller in line with 1 return pump that may operate at a cooler temperature. Has anyone had better luck with other brand return pumps e.g. Eheim, Sicce, Tunze, etc? I am very limited on space and may not be able to install the return pump externally. However, I am considering building a platform to raise the pump out of the water... Any information on your experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
  7. I have one, used Sapphire Aquatics Aqua Pod 24 Skimmer available for sale or trade. Purchased yesterday for my BioCube 14, but it is 2 inches too tall. Should work in for the Finnex 30-Gallon M Tank, JBJ 28-Gallon Nano Cube, Aqua Pod 24-Gallon, and 29-Gallon BioCube. Asking what I paid, $50.
  8. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences and your advice! I will keep a close watch on it, but I will let it figure out on its own where it wants to go.
  9. My crocea clam decided to go bungee jumping. (Thank goodness it was only from a rock 1.5-2" from the bottom of the tank.) The previous spot that it was attached looks like only the byssal threads were separated, and it is sitting on the bottom of the tank with its foot attached to the side of the same rock. Currently it is facing slightly horizontal away from the light. My question is, is this clam able to readjust itself towards the lights once they turn on? I have concerns of moving the clam and possibly injuring it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
