+dapettit
Do you want an airstone and pump? Dave-
doktorstick
I don't know much about airstones to be honest--hence "system". I was pretty it was multiple parts, but didn't know if the pump was submersible or not. But yes, I think I need both since I have no other pumps other than MJ 1200 ones. +mcallahan
I think I'm more confused now. What are you trying to do with said "system"
doktorstick
I have a tank I need to aerate where I don't want a ton of (hardly any) circulation. All I have are MJ-1200 lying around. Suggestions?
+mcallahan
air pump and air stone. Any LFS or petsmart will have them in the freshwater section. The airstone will aerate your tank but not cause a lot of circulation. A MJ-1200 would be the other extreme of what you want. You can probably get the pump + airstone + airline tubing for $10. +dapettit
May I suggest using a submersible filter. I used one in my QT tank (when I had room for one). Gas exchange is created by breaking the surface tension of the water.

I use my MJ-1200 for a 30g trashcan.
+dapettit
You can pick one up any local large box pet stores. They are usually called corner filters. If you are needing on short term I might be persuaded to let you use mine. Dave-
