pbnj
My mated-pair of Clarkii's have been more psychotic than usual in defending their cave entrance, so i decided to take a closer look. Low and behold....eggs!
medi
awesome...congrats!! Are you going to attempt to raise the fry?
pbnj
Nope, I wouldn't even know where to start. Guess there will be some extra fish food for the tank in the next week or so.
muddybluewater
At least you know they are happy.
JamesL
Very awesome when fish feel comfortable to spawn. The only downside is the extra aggressiveness ... my talbot damsels get feistier when they are spawning (ok heck, they are always feisty ). Gonzobob
** From breedclownfish.com "Clownfish eggs will hatch about 7-10 days after they are laid, depending on the water temperature. Each day you should check the eggs. When the eggs get a silver color, they will hatch that night. You will notice that each egg has a silver, reflective eye. This means that when the lights go out they will hatch." I managed to look in on mine within 10 minutes of hatching or so. Seeing the fry in the tank was worth watching. Alas they were destined to be snacks for corals and fish. Eventually I'm going to setup a rotifer culture to supplement live food in the tanks but I'll probably also give raising the fry a go at that time. Derek
Very nice. I am hoping that my Pink Skunks spawn sometime. I doubt I would raise the fries but it would be a nice treat to have it happen.
