innate1
I'm not sure if it's what it is but that looks like my chili coral
stoneroller
See if it pulls off easily or breaks apart like an algae might. Hard to tell.

Gonzobob
LSK has a bleached hairy mushroom that looks somewhat like that. Really kind of a sad little thing. (LSK's shroom)
NonSequitur
It looks a lot like the cotton candy (Callithamnion) algae on the reefcleaners.org algae identification page: ReefCleaners.org | Clean Up Crews and Macro Algae - Nuisance Algae ID Guide
Laura
It looks a lot like the cotton candy (Callithamnion) algae on the reefcleaners.org algae identification page: ReefCleaners.org | Clean Up Crews and Macro Algae - Nuisance Algae ID Guide Thanks for all the responses guys...Jeremy, I did have some of that cotton candy in my refugium not too long ago, so it's not that. When I felt it this morning, it has a sturdy skeleton, like an SPS, just with soft, fuzzy polyps. It is very pretty, to me... I'll keep trying to get an ID and see what it grows into. NonSequitur
Ooh, that's way better than cotton candy algae!
alasg001
I also think it looks a lot like a leather from my tank t hat was sold to me as a chili coral. I kept it in a cave with moderate flow and it would extend it's white polyps mainly in the early mornings and late evenings.
