AlexKilpatrick
I have a 150 that has been set up for about 2 weeks now. It has rock that has been fully cycled (via trash cans) for a couple months. Nitrates, nitrities, ammonia, are all 0. I have a skimmer that is sized for a 225 gallon, and I am essentially getting no output. I have a 2" of so layer of "froth" but nothing anywhere near enough to climb up the neck, etc. The only thing I have in the tank right now is a couple of chromises. Is this normal for a large tank so lightly loaded?
+dapettit
I am experiencing the same thing on our new 58 set up. I thinking little to no bio-load=little to no skimmate. Dave-
muddybluewater
I agree with Dave, clean water, no waste, no skimmate
+Eckreef
Not to disagree but... I setup a 40g breeder with 90% dead rock and 10% LR. It fully cycled in 2 weeks and has been running for 6 weeks now with only a CUC (bunch of snails and 2 shrimp) My Euroreef RS80 has been skimming like a champ since day 1....
