I have a 55 gallon tank thats been up for 6 months. I have these shrimp like critters in the rocks, crushed coral. Loads of them. There are no fish, just snails, crabs and feather dusters. What kind of fish can i get to lower the population or get rid of this. Also is this a problem?

Yes, some people (like me for instance) pay the occasional $20 to buy the bottle of 'pod seeding solution so I can be sure there are enough little critters for my Mandarin to eat. Others just find someone like yourself and borrow or buy some macro-algae or rocks from your tank to transfer the pods that live in them over to their tank.

Definitely consider yourself lucky! Get a Mandarin. They are the most beautiful fish IMO, and they do better when there are live pods for them to feed on.
