barderer Posted June 10, 2009 Share Posted June 10, 2009 I am looking for a small fish to put in a 30 gal that has similar eating habits to a tang. E.G. eats macro algae. Any ideas? I believe the main families you should look at are tangs, rabbitfish (tank might be to small), angel fish (tank might be to small), and algae eating blennies. Probably only go with one tang, one angle fish, one rabbit fish, and a blenny or two. You have to do some research as I don't think the rabbitfish or many angel fish (look into dwarf angels) can reside in a tank that small. Some dwarf angels might be able to, but they have the same possible side effects of nipping on corals. It varies from each individual fish to another.
