pickle311
Anyone ever used any of the local glass shops? How are they? I think I'm going to build a small glass tank and I'm trying to find a good source. I need someone who can cut the glass and polish the edges, I also wan't starphire glass. I know I can order it online, but I like to support the locals and it's risky shipping glass. Deminsions I'm looking at building are 24x24x16. It shuld be fairly cheap to build. TIA, I'm really itching to get back in the hobby after selling my tank 2 years ago. Robb in Austin
I think you may be surprised by how much it will cost. I picked up a 4"x18"x1/4" piece to reinforce a center brace once, and it was ~$20-30. Maybe I just picked the wrong place.

I used Russell Glass in Georgetown to cut glass for my sump baffles. non-tempered !/4" glass was around $7/piece.
renman303
Russell Glass in Gtown built my custom made sump tops as well. They do great work and very inexpensive. Not sure if they have Starfire glass? Mine is basic green plate.
dustint21
I have been searching for a place also. Jason just bought a sheet of 1/4'' glass 36'' x 16.5'' and it was only like $18 (with polished edges)! That is a place here in Killeen.
