JGon
I'm setting up a nano planted tank and am looking for bonsai tree branches to make an underwater tree. If you guys know where I can get some let me know. Need small pieces. My tank is only a 3.5 gallon. Thanks in advance.
Reburn
True bonsai tree are closely related to cedar. Therefore toxic to a freshwater tank.

Reburn
Since I don't know what videos you are referring to.... True bonsai tree are for sure toxic. You can use them for a couple weeks before they leech enough toxins. So you can use them in a show/competition tank that is only going to be up for 2-3 weeks. Long term they will not work though. jestep
Use Manzanita or another wood and tie plants to the end of the branches with fishing line. Anubias, Java ferns, and other plants that grow from a rhizome are usually much more suited for growing like this.
