Programming apex to run DC pump

I just received the new apex ready controller for my waveline DC pump that I use to run my closed loop. I have it connected to the VDM and I'm attempting to get it running on a program, trying to follow the directions in the manual. I barely know what I'm doing.

So each plug into the VDM has 2 parts as I understand it. For my lights, 1 controls spectrum and the other, intensity. But when it comes to the pump, I don't know which one to use. I tried putting each on ON and OFF and nothing happened to the pump, it just kept running full power, so it's not clear to me which to write my program in. I hope this is somewhat understandable. long story short, those VDM ports are 1-10v dimmers. You can use one of these: http://amzn.com/B00LBXND18 connect the VDM leads into the upper left 1-10v ports, connect the power supply in the middle "power input" ports on the right. connect the power leads to the pump on the upper right "output." 10v = 100% on the apex dashboard and max pump speed.5v = 50%... so on.

edit/update: The port pinout can be found here: http://bit.ly/1K33eG7 typical rj45. pins 1/2 are the first channel, and pins 5/6 are the second channel. Make sure not to ground the positive on anything, it will cause the apex to reboot (and possibly some hardware issues)

yup! http://reefbuilders.com/files/2015/08/waveline-apex-ready-pump-1.jpg so, if you use a simple cat5 cable from apex to the pump, it will use channel 1, you sacrifice channel 2 as the pump wont use that channel. using the link above, you can always split out channel 2 if you wish. looks like this one is a simple plug and play!

Awesome, that's one thing I needed to figure out, which channel to use. I appreciate it! I'm going to get the update on my apex then give it a go.
