CaptainK
Few weeks ago I bought a nice acro from aquadome. It looks like a milleopora spathulata. I had it half way up the tank under a 6 bulb t5 fixture. After a week the tips of all the coralites started to bleach. I moved it to a shaded spot on the sandbed and it recovered in a couple days. I kept it on the sand bed but moved it out of the shade and it started to bleach again. I have never seen this type of acro so sensitive to light. I figured after 3 weeks it would have adjusted by now. Anybody run into this before?
FarmerTy
Acropora spathaluta is notoriously difficult usually. They actually prefer more light so I'm surprised by that. It doesn't look like a millepora to me.
LarryD
I have been fighting with a tyree setosa for a month or so. At this point I don't think it will make it as it is just to far gone but I am still getting polyp extension so maybe it will pull through. CaptainK
It only bleaches when I put it in direct light but recovers immediately when shaded. Polyps are always out too. I've never seen a thick branches acro that doesn't like light.
Gig 'em @ NDstructible
It may just need to be acclimated to higher light. Ease it into higher light. This particular coral may do better in a more shaded area, as long as it's happy, who cares!
Bpb
+1 spathulata is expert level. My two attempts crashed and burned and they were super healthy when I got them
