Chopper
Is this normail for the RTBA to be strectched like that? I have LED lighting and it's turned up to about 65%. Does it need more light? what do you guys think?
+SChrisEV
No, not really (does not need more light). Mine are stretched most of the time, but that is because their foot is anchored deep in the rocks and they stretch to reach the light level they want. How far from the lights are your rocks? Usually mine are not stretched past the rock work.
+SChrisEV
How long has it been like that? Has it been moving at all? It might just be trying different light levels. Mine stay put most of the time, but occasionally they will decide to move around, mostly after I make some changes, light, flow etc. You could try bringing the light intensity of a little, but do it fairly slowly. FarmerTy
Mine stretch and they are getting hit by 300-500 par. I would say normally if they stretch, they desire more light but their are exceptions to the rule. Flow is another factor and lately, I witnessed one stretching like crazy when I removed the clowns from the system and then go back to normal once the clowns were reintroduced. Chopper
The light is about 12 inches from the rocks. I have had it for about 2 months and it has moved about and inch from where I originally placed it. It has been like this for about 2 couple weeks. Sascha D.
All of my green BTA have stretched like that. I had one that was about 3" from a WP40 on full blast and 10" below the lights and it still stretched. It would shrink up after a feeding, but it was pretty much like that most of the time.
