Gig 'em @ NDstructible Posted March 31, 2015 Share Posted March 31, 2015 It won't take long for the buried sand to start becoming anaerobic and you'll start getting die off from your aerobic microbes and anaerobic microbes will start taking over. As for how long it will take.... I would give it 1-3 days before the conditions become anaerobic in the deeper parts of the bucket. I've never tested it personally, but that's my guess. jestep Posted March 31, 2015 Share Posted March 31, 2015 I wouldn't reusie sand from a tank without a ton of rinsing no matter how fast it was transferred.
