Jmvanness
So I know this has been discussed to death, and I know what I'd do with a larger fixture? But what about for a 2 bulb fixture. I picked up a 16 IM aio for my little sister and I had a t5 fixture that fits it until she can decide if she wants to get LEDs. What bulb combo would work well for softies and zoas? A 420 actinic and a 14k white?
Timfish
Personally i don't like that much blue and would go with a 10K or 12K instead of the 14K. If you like a bluer tank that combination will due it.
Viet'spride70
I RUN 2 T5 ACTINICs combine with LEDs, but T5 stays longer before and after LEDs. actinics r very nice soft blue color, i am very please with em....so r my zoas
Bpb
2 bulbs I would use would be the ati coral + and the ati blue+. If I ran a 4 bulb I'd go 2/2. If I ran 6 bulbs I'd likely go 3/
Jmvanness
Thanks guys. Bpb do you know any equivalents to the coral+ in other brands?
Bpb
Giesemann just released a whole new line of bulbs, KZ is out of the bulb business, and I believe that Pacific Sun has a comparable bulb to the coral+. However. You'll likely find that the color rendering will be just as good if not better with the ATI. The par will be the best and hold the longest with the ATI. And most importantly, the cost will be the lowest. You're not going to find such a well balanced full spectrum bulb for that price that performs so well with any other brand. Especially not the cheapo Current or Zoomed pet store bulbs
Jmvanness
They should pay you for that endorsement. Lol. I'll have to order them.
Reburn
+1 on the blue and coral+ on a 2 bulb system. It will yield good growth and great color. ATI blue plus is what I will be using to light my frag tank with 14k halides.
