jsr
Okay, I have some serious black mold growing inside the canopy. Would this be caused by lask of air flow or something else? What is a safe way of getting rid of this stuff? I assume I could pull the canopy and clean it with anti-mold stuff but that scares me. I would think that if water got up there and dripped back into the tank it would not be good. I have an IceCap fan pulling air mounted on top but it goes off when the lights go off. Leaving the fan would help, I guess. Any suggestions on cleaning the mold? Oh, and its also on the tank rim. James
+dapettit
We went through a mold remediation in our entire house. The "experts" recommended we us a Clorox solution of 1 to 1 (Clorox and water) letting it soak the mold for about a minute then wiping with clean cloth. Continue until all the mold is gone. Let it dry and paint the inside of the canopy with kilnz. Dave-
Headless_donkey
Let that Kilz of gas for a while before you put it back on your tank. That stuff is nasty.
+dapettit
agreed! Might even want to put some marine shellac on it to waterproof it.
