JCAB
Hope it's ok to post here and that it's helpful. Staples has the APC BATTERY-UPS 600VA for$49.99. If you spend more than $50, use code 86069 to take $15 off the total. Thought it could run the pump for awhile in case of an outtage? According to the APC site, it can run 53.5 watts for 51.1 minutes.
Timfish
I've tried UPS but even though an air pump only pulls a few watts an UPC will only run it for a short time. Something that is designed to run 24 hours or more I think would be much better.
jestep
I run 1 in-tank pump on mine which is 1000VA and they typically last about 2 - 4 hours. Basically enough to survive a reasonable power outage. Generator is probably the only realistic option for more than 6 hours of life support.
