SoonerFan
I am looking for someone who can really polish acrylic well. I am looking at a unique used tank for a vivarium but I want it looking great. Figured I would ask for some references for people who have experience doing this. Thanks in advance, Lee
Stephen
I think it would depend on the depth of the scratch. I've heard it isn't too difficult to buff out smaller surface scratches. Maybe someone else knows more.
jestep
You can use a novus kit with a drill attachment if you want to do it yourself. It's a very time consuming process though. How bad are, and where are, the scratches though? Not sure about professional equipment, but it could take 8 - 12 hours to polish 3 sides of a medium sized tank with a drill and buffer pad. Niko's Reef
I tried Accent, and they are no longer doing aquariums. They referred me to Solomon of Smart Glass Tech. His # is(512)317-5858. He did an excellent job on my glass aquarium. He couldn't get to the scratches on the acrylic due to the way my inserts are slotted on the top of that aquarium. He couldn't get the buffers enough in to apply the pressure needed to remove the scratches. Just a heads up, it can be pricy. I'm actually working on trying to remove the scratches in the acrylic myself. It is a job. I'm trying Novus 1,2,3 and Everclear. I need to find a buffer for it.
